Great game, I got Inscryption vibes. I had a great time with it.
I feel that the game was more about how you react to the cards you get rather than having a mid- or long-term strategy. I don't know exactly what you aimed for. Sometimes, it's just throwing a card without any effect to redraw, which happened a lot during my runs and felt a bit bad. Maybe I didn't play it enough or didn't fully understand everything.
I feel there is not enough reward for playing multiple cards together, and the draw system could be changed a bit so that redrawing multiple times in one round costs more, or maybe has a limit, I don't know.
The card pool sometimes felt weird, like drawing more Sacred Flame cards than base Skull cards in my hand. Well, this type of game is hard to balance, so for a jam, it's already really cool.
Overall, great art, great sound design, and a great card system. I want more of it. GG!!!
Fun and engaging. The overheat mechanic is really interesting, and I liked the roguelite progression. The controls maybe feel a bit too abrupt. With a little zero-gravity inertia, they could be a bit more satisfying, even though I presume it would take away some control from the player due to the inertia. It would perhaps make the dash more useful. But honestly, the game is fun, the sound design is great and satisfying, but i feel the music becomes less enjoyable after a while.
Erything feels intuitive. I liked the red moon vibes with the black trees silhouetted against it and the simplicity of the game eating makes you go faster and gives you more time. Maybe you could have made the vampire see a little farther after eating some humans. Overall, I enjoyed it. I really loved the menu music as well.
Also, when starting the game, I got control of my vampire at 55s instead of 60s.
RIP to the humans in this world who don't know it's safer to stay inside and not invite the vampire in. :)
Nice short game. I like the implementation of the theme with the platforms, but I feel you could have pushed it further with other types of platforms or environmental mechanics. The game is quite hard, I think. The jumps lack some coyote time, making them sometimes frustrating because some of them need to be well timed, so you feel the lack of it even more. The effect of the platforms appearing and disappearing works well, but it could have been more satisfying with some sound effects. Overall, it's a nice jam game. Well done!!
thanks for the feedback, i agree the LD is confusing, and the key elements deserved to be put even more in a spotlight knowing that they appears and disapear. Also it needs more feedback on what you are supposed to do. I see, the web version compression make it even more crunchy, it was a bit surprising.
I see, i wish you good luck, hope you find you’re way in. If the guide is not enough i could help you a bit more if you feel so. But i think with this you can reach the end. And yes the phone is small for the importance of the element, i should have made this different, well I should have made the onboarding a bit different, but that's an understatement.
Was so much fun playing this game. First run, I was in front of death with 9 queens, and she ate my king. RIP. Honestly, this game could really be expanded into a full release. Hope you guys keep cooking on this.I have been working on a chess game with Balatro elements, and your take is really solid. Can wait to play it more to see more of it, i am amaze with the depth of this 4 days game. Congrats to the team!!!
Hope I can see the vampire in the future!! I like the camera angles, they bring back memories of old RE. I enjoyed my time. Some camera angles made me get stuck on things, for example, the collision with the pillars when getting out of the church, but maybe it was due to my screen gamma. With more time i can see some vampire-related events and environmental narration, it could be a really cool short game.
If you want a quick guide, i don't know where you end up but.
There are 4 signs Walk, Interact (E), Jump, Sprint ,but you only need 3 of them to finish the game -E is next to the market -Jump is in the forest
Tips : Restore the stairs at the spawn and go on top you can see all sign from that view, including the Sprint.
1.Market zone : First one in the loop
- At some point you will hear a phone call stay at the market and the phone will appear. You have to zoom it and then get into the market to interact with it.
Now head to the forest directly.
2.Forest zone :Second in the loop
-After you will hear a Horn, during the horn a boat helm will appear next to the cabin fragment, you will need to zoom it and restore the cabin fragment to get inside and interact with the boat helm.
3.The Lake:
Once both zones are done, head to the lake ,the boat is on the lake down the road to the right of the spawn point. Zoom on the boat to bring it in, then interact with it and go on board.
The art is so beautiful, the music, the atmosphere are well done. Great game, the puzzle are not the best part maybe if verification occurs when you say you are done with the shape, more possibilities for the player and with a little hint of what it could look like. And the movement beetween the draw spote and constelation one feel a bit long each time maybe speed up the character just a bit. Overall fantastic experience the end is gorgeous.
