use the latest build now, see how it is.

i was trying to figure that out.. godot's engine doesnt support video seeking so it can only play a video from start to finish, the mod would have to split the whole video into individual slices per voice line, its doable, just not trying overhaul the entire game lol.

I have a build for linux on gamebannana now if you wanna check it out

The multiplayer mod I'm working on has an offset/delay function in settings now if you want to check it out

that i havent worked out yet, initially my interest was only for dub mode

Currently you can assign yourself a character, but the whole "turn based" part is sort of the nature of the game, so you know what is going on during the scene, and hear their voice line before recording yours.

with it already having a build for linux, i might be able to transfer functions, ill see what i can do

The whole "taking turns" part of it is sorta just the nature of the game, if more people prefer it that way then ill see what i can do.

Hey y'all,

This was initially just a mod made for me and my friends, because i really really wanted to be able to do this in multiplayer. It proved to be  pretty functional and people seemed interested, so i guess why not allow people the option up until YeahMaybe makes their own multiplayer build.

I  finally worked out enough of the quirks for getting this to work on build 5.3 (it was initially started while 5.1 was the newest build)

Special thanks to some play testers that helped me work out some of the online problems, plus the patcher quirks:

I have the first build posted on gamebananna: go here for the download!

Now you and your friends can play online together (without port forwarding/virtual LAN software, or sharing your public IP) It uses Steam's testing API to connect you and other steam friends running the game. A lot more secure for those online friend groups out there.

Features/QOL Additions:

- This mod supports up to 8+ people at a time, (although i haven't tested more than 3 lol) Synced through Steam's peer-to-peer networking. (See friends hosting lobbies, join/invite through steam, etc.)

- The host chooses the packs, other players packs will be synced/validated to the host.

- If other players in the lobby don't have the pack, it will be downloaded from the host. (This is insufferably slow. If anything, use it on small pack files (under 50mb)

- The backing track now has its own volume slider, because some packs have insanely fucking loud backtrack audio and you can't hear your own voice lines.

-Finished dub will be synced to the hosts play button, so everyone can watch it at the same time after its done.

- After recording a voice line, you'll now have the ability to click and drag it along the timeline to adjust the timing to wherever you would like in real time.

- Mic settings are now available while you're in dub mode, as well as some additional audio effects (pitch, reverb, pan, etc.) to actively tweak the mic to the scene.

- Mic offset delay was added, this was already in the game technically, and just needed to be enabled (can be a little buggy, adjust carefully)

- Fixed silent/empty recordings on surround-sound setups (5.1/7.1, including things like SteelSeries Sonar) - A Godot engine bug where the mic still looked live and the waveform still moved, but the actual saved recording was silent. Recording now goes through a different audio path on those setups specifically. Build 5.3 already had a fix for the engine itself, but i didn't have it baked in my version of Godot. So when compiling, the issue would persist, seems to be fixed now though! -Thanks Kira!

Other Shtuff:

- Since this mod uses Steam's dev testing API for peer to peer connection. Make sure Steam is launched and you're signed in (not in offline mode. Invisible mode is fine, but you will need to share the lobby code instead, otherwise you can join friends either in-game or through your friends list).

- When you launch the game, it will show you are playing "spacewar" on Steam. That is the name of the game this API is tied to. Otherwise the game would need to be registered with Steam, and i don't own the rights to the game. (its also $100 to register, screw that!)

- If it says you're playing spacewar on steam, this is a good indicator that its working!

- I STRONGLY suggest you send each other your pack files before starting a lobby.

known issues right now:

- When messing with the mic settings in dub mode, your first recording after leaving that menu might appear heavily delayed or not working. Try rerecording, it usually fixes itself. Opening and closing that menu a lot has broken my mic mid-game before, so just be careful!

-I have not tested this build as much as the older version, but i've been able to cycle through everything with no problems.

Have fun! :) let me know how it goes.

-Meo

Yes, its only for the dub part of the game

Almost ready, I'll post in the forums very soon

Add me on disc,  meotastic

I'm almost finished with a multiplayer mod for choicer voicer as well,

it uses steam's API for peer to peer connection, so no port forwarding needed. It auto syncs pack files so no one needs to download and extract packs, the host just clicks play and everyone has it! once all the lines are recorded, you can all watch it together live in synch as the host has a master button to play the final product. It also takes advantage of the character system so you can see your custom character of whoever's turn it is.

I'm like 99% done and just need to stress test it and work out some bugs.
