are there plans to sell this on the Steam store?

additional requested features: file sort order options, default start directory for files

additional unsolicited feature requests:

next/prev file button options (shuffle?)

one-handed mode or configurable button assignments (or would Steam just let you do that)

this is seriously great -- so much more performant than any other players I've tried and I love supporting open projects.

+1 this feature request, configurable second level skip, or push down for a mode to point to where on the timeline would be excellent

Thank you! I just installed the newest build and I threw claude at it and found two issues that prevented my install from working and found a workaround for both and it's AMAZING!!

1. install.py failed with KeyError: 'Shortcuts' -- the shortcut gets created but the artwork step crashes. artwork.py (shortcuts(), line 87) looks up the root key "Shortcuts" but my shortcuts.vdf has it in lowercase ("shortcuts"). Making the lookup case-insensitive fixed it:

root = {key.lower(): value for key, value in object().items()}

return root["shortcuts"].values()

2. Launch hangs forever after the "Next up" screen: MatineeVR connects to SteamVR, then busy-loops at 100% CPU on one thread during Vulkan startup.  It never loads the bundled Turnip driver or opens /dev/dri.  The cause is Valve's implicit OpenXR Layer XR_APILAYER_VALUE_fdm_injection.  It reproduces off-headset with "matineevr --render-prodbe --seconds 1 clip.mp4" even with a clean environment.  With DISABLE_VULKAN_FDM_INJECTION_LAYER=1 the probe runs fine (Turnip Adreno 750, 60 frames in about 0.1s).  I added this line to launch.sh just before the final exec:

export DISABLE_VULKAN_FDM_INJECTION_LAYER=1

Version: SteamOS 0.4.5 (build 20261007.6125817, VR Variant) deckard-vulkan-layers-linux-aarch64 20260923.1-1

Issue: I decompressed the downloaded zip, turned on developer mode, ran install.py, it just echoed the menu order to start it and exited, I also saw a desktop notification it was installed.  When I launch it and hit piay it almost instantly shows a blue "Resume" box and then goes fullscreen with "Next up" and a black logo, that goes away shortly, but then I'm just sitting there in the default environment. no buttons do anything and I have to exit the game with the steam button.   I also have frametop and nix installed if that's an issue maybe?
