Ahh, yeah so your circle is just a word for the space on your table where you keep Confidants once you’ve met them. When you draw and resolve a Confidant card, rather than discarding it you put it in your ‘circle’ (the area on your table). Then when preparing a volume deck, you can add Confidant cards from your circle (i.e. Confidants you’ve already met).
Hey! Pretty sure it’s sold out worldwide—you can preorder on my website or wait until next year :)
Hey! You can absolutely go off-piste with the character options and fill in the blanks with your own ideas. However, the further you stray from the tone of the suggestions, the harder you might find it to fit whatever you come up with into the broader story.
For example, if you ended up with:
“I wear mechanised armour and ammo belts and carry a giant machine gun with me pretty much everywhere.”
It might make some of the framing around your journey a little harder to square! TBH even something as extreme as that would probably still work fine though—it definitely won’t ‘break’ anything. If, as I expect, your ideas are closer to the witchy norms established by the book, I’m 100% sure you’ll be fine :)
Hey! You can use a regular deck of cards for most of the normal prompts, but the characters you’ll meet are all named after the major arcana. That said, there’s nothing stopping you from making your own custom deck of cards (or using the online tabletop offering that’s included with the game) if you’d rather not use a tarot deck.
