Thank you for the suggestion! I'll look into it and might use it for some of my experimental builds for feedback.

(1 edit)

I released my first game on itch.io back in May and it initially got a decent number of downloads I think, but despite making new updates and additions every couple weeks it feels like it's not gained much traction. From my analytics I got 26 downloads in the first 2 weeks, but despite new updates and additions since then I've barely reached another 30 downloads in the intervening 9 weeks, and I suspect that many of them are the same people just downloading new updated versions as they are released (I announce new updates in my discord server and some others with similar game niches, with the servers' mods' permission).

I'm eager for more feedback so I can keep improving as a developer and see how far this project goes, so I'd appreciate anyone giving it a go and giving any feedback either here, in the project comments or in my discord server (linked in the itch.io page). In particular, I'd like to know how it feels to play, whether there's any balancing issues and if there's anything that should be worked on more. I'd also like to know if I'm doing something wrong with regards to getting attention for the game or my current dev cycle. Bug reports and general questions are also welcome!

Forgot one more new control: you can right click to fire a single turret rather than a full salvo.

Thank you, it's good to hear people enjoying the game! Feel free to leave any criticisms you might have, it's the only way I can improve it.

Reached 500 population, thought that's a good place to stop. Damn this game is gripping! Was getting quite laggy towards the end, especially when placing new island tiles. Deck management is quite tricky, but once I got the hang of it it felt like I could keep going forever without issues, and was really fun to figure out. Really neat little game!
