Ayo! A game jam is basically a challenge to make a fun, functional game within a tight deadline. For this one, the main rule is to use the Blender Game Engine.

The theme will be announced a day ahead of schedule so no one gets a head start. After the jam ends, everyone uploads their game and votes on their favorites. BGMC tradition dictates that the winner gets to host the next one!

Since this is your first jam, feel free to ask around and team up  -it's not mandatory, but it makes the jam a lot more fun and manageable :))

-----   Feel free to read more here

yooo!!! Some cool stuff ^-^

Hi everyone!

First off, I did not expect this many people to join! It just shows how alive the BGE community still is.

Here are the rules:

What engines are allowed?
----- Standard BGE, Range Engine, UPBGE, and Armory 3D only.

Can we form teams?
----- Yes. I highly recommend forming a team, especially if this is your first jam  -it’s a great way to make friends.

Am I allowed to use premade art and asset packs?
----- Yes, provided they are free and publicly available online.
----- If you use premade assets, you must credit the original artists in your submission description.

Is AI allowed?
As much as it stings to say, it is 2026, so I will be setting clear boundaries:
----- Code and Engine Help: Allowed, though I still encourage asking a friend for help with Python and logic.
----- Art: Absolutely not.
----- Translation and Grammar: Yes. It is a helpful tool if English is not your native language.

Should I make a .exe?
---- Ideally, yes.
---- OR, if sh#t hits the fan, drop your .blend and make a clear note what engine and version it is :))

The theme will drop this weekend, so keep an eye on the jam’s community section and homepage.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Time to get the chat going!
Let's keep all communications on itch.io since folk are from different forums, socials, and discord groups - so it would be best to have everyone on the same boat rather than updating everyone on different platforms.

Feel free to make teams, have a lovely chat, and share some videos or pics of older projects.

8 days to go, 8 days to set things up and chill. <3

More details will be given later this weekend ^-^

Thanks!  Unfortunately I have zero idea how to make a Linux port with the engine haha

The second one will be a mission to make public. Lots of cringe and copyrighted music.   It was made as a Bday gift for a friend :))
However, you can watch his playthrough:

Mind sharing the youtube link? It's fun watching other people play :)

Thanks yo!

Hi yall, I've gained a bunch of downloads today out of the blue. Would be nice to hear where folk heard of my game. Leave a comment or reply please!

Only way to get more meta is if Meta acquires this game hehehe.

Thanks for playing!

The engine I use has a really buggy physics engine; clipping will happen if the CPU is a bit slow. As for the speech bubble, I'm not gonna say anything :))

Glad you enjoyed it! I'd say it's a mix of Beginners Guide, the Insomniac museums in Ratchet and Clank, and then off course the developer commentary in Half Life

yeah, I wish I could add that, but I cant code to save my life hehe. I just went with the default settings.

Glad you liked it!!

I really wanted to implement subtitles, but I can't code hahaha.  Making any Ui with this engine is a nightmare.

Glad you enjoyed it!  This is my first time writing an actual script and planning stuff.  My main goal was to have fun and confuse people on what engine im using haha

The end had a few rewrites. Super hard to wrap it up in a short note hehe. Glad you enjoyed the story a bit.   I'd like to imagine Dan had a burnout and is chilling in a cabin somewhere:))

Thank you!! :)

Tanks!

Was thinking about it.   Might start scripting today

Glad you enjoyed it! :))

Life is Squeak by Oby1

I started getting tired of the cozy-game shovelware trend recently, and the latest LIS entries are extremely repetitive and heavy-handed. So, why not make a parody game :)   It's really hard not to spoil, but I'll say one thing. It's in the title.

What was originally made as a birthday gift, I decided to give it a bit of a face-lift and make it public.

Description:

A game for both the fans and critics of the original LIS!

Embark on the adventure of a lifetime as you navigate a peaceful autumn day. Make dialogue choices that might—or might not—matter, go fishing, bike through scenic trails, and wreak a little havoc on the local wildlife. The choice is yours!

Hyped to see your reaction! :))

Thanks mah dude!!

HAHAHAHA!!! Thanks yo!

Go check it out yo!

this is odd, The engine we used is a bit jank-  maybe updating graphics dirvers.

Hi yall! Thank you soo much for joining my game jam. First time I've hosted one, and I'm glad it went smoothly :) <3

A few friends and I will be making a let's play video of all your games. It will be uploaded next week on YouTube. So keep an eye out for that!

I'll post a link over on discord and the community page of Itch io.

all good yo! Goodluck with the Bday game! <3

Hi there! it seems to be on the submissions page. Reload the jam page and hop over to submissions to double-check.   I can ask a team member to upload it on your behalf if you're still having issues.

Add these few things to your description:
1- credit the artists if you've used pre-made assets
2 - How to play, the Goal, and the controls

and that's it!

Hyyypppeee!   Will play it next week with friends ^-^

yess.  If you can switch them on and off and feature a light switch:)

Nope!, kinda, it just needs to feature a functional light switch, so you can make whatevs,   just have that asset in the game

it's always fun to see everyone's silly glitches and progress on Gamedev.

I mean... it's a tool. But you can't copyright ai art. But ye. I'll say it's allowed

Hi there, noprobs, I'll make a plan!

Welcome to the jam yo!

it's all good. You can share a link to it over on discord.   as long as it's accessible to play and free. :)
