Same as Brazen78. Can't launch game without "Failed to check version. Please restart the game" on browser and windows.
Something I found is when you have any of itch's folders hidden it won't update games properly. I have to unhide everything and then it works.
You have to go on a browser and when it takes you to a third party site like Mega, download it and put it in the folder you keep your Itch apps in
