There is no issue on Chrome for me. I had a look around Google;  it seems Macs just have issues with everything on the planet 😅. Below is a list of fixes for Mac I found online when they fail to connect to websites. The browser version of this game is no different than a normal website since it's just JavaScript.

I'd test these in this order

  1. Open it in Safari on the Mac
    • If Safari works → probably Chrome/cache/DNS.
    • If Safari also fails → probably the Mac's network/DNS.
  2. Open it in Chrome Incognito
    • If Incognito works → Chrome cache/cookies/extensions are likely involved.
  3. Try your phone on the same Wi-Fi
    • If the phone also fails → likely your Wi-Fi/router/DNS.
    • If the phone works → likely something specific to the Mac.
  4. Try the Mac using your phone's hotspot
    • This is probably the most useful test.
    • Works on hotspot but not Wi-Fi: definitely points toward your network/DNS rather than Yokai Idle.
  5. In Chrome, try: chrome://net-internals/#dns

    and click Clear host cache.

Yeah, you just have to press run game at the top. That's what Itch is, a place to play browser games.

Deleting game data seems extreme, but that works, aha.
Clicking, I won't be doing that but at least someone else can use that advice.
Walk speed. Yeah it needs to be higher base at the start then, watching them walk around for ages at the start when you've got what 5 mins at most before people make up their mind about a game.
The game will not continue because that's not how browsers work. The moment it's in another tab, etc, it stops running. You need to add code to quickly simulate what would have happened and award it when the user comes back.

Starting as a rogue and skipping the tutorial.
I cannot then do the tutorial later. Got stuck because the rogue can't beat his guy and couldn't get money for the next guy.

It's painfully slow walking speed.

The game is not idle, it stops playing when I look somewhere else..

I keep seeing people trying to download the game, while the download links are in the description i'll put them here...

So far, I can't replicate it or see any obvious issue since other people have managed it. I asked Google's AI on their dashboard, "transaction cannot be completed notice" This part makes me think the issue was something with Google, as the app itself doesn't process any payments; it just waits for Google to say yes or no.

From googles AI:

Most Likely Causes & Fixes

  • App-Specific In-App Purchase Glitch
    • Why it happens: Sometimes the interface between the app's build and Google's billing library gets stuck in a bad session state.
    • Fix: Force close the app, clear its cache, or completely uninstall and reinstall the app, then try the purchase again.
  • Google Play Store Cache Corruption
    • Why it happens: The Play Store app caches old billing tokens or session data that can block new transactions.
    • Fix: Go to your phone's Settings > Apps > Google Play Store > Storage & Cache, tap Clear Cache, and then restart your device.
  • Automated Risk/Security Flag (Google Pay Profile)
    • Why it happens: Google’s automated anti-fraud system occasionally flags digital or in-app purchases out of an abundance of caution, even for legitimate users with working cards.
    • Fix: Log into
    • <a href="https://pay.google.com/" _ngcontent-ng-c1744321873="" target="_blank" rel="noopener" externallink="" _nghost-ng-c4162302978="" jslog="197247;track:generic_click,impression,attention;BardVeMetadataKey:[[" r_5bd737d65a23fe7d","c_5772a52e5f040f64",null,"rc_9389f46cbd9a2441",null,null,"en",null,1,null,null,1,0]]"="" class="ng-star-inserted" data-hveid="0" decode-data-ved="1" data-ved="0CAAQ_4QMahcKEwjW8_ijxquWAxUAAAAAHQAAAAAQIA">pay.google.com</a> to check if there are any alerts, unverified addresses, or requests to confirm your identity/re-enter security codes.
  • Payment Token Desync
    • Why it happens: The saved payment method needs a quick refresh with Google's servers.
    • Fix: Go to the Play Store, tap your profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Payment methods > More payment settings, remove the payment method, and add it back.

Thanks for letting me know! I've had other purchases go through Google Play recently, so the purchase system itself seems to be working, but I'll look into this on my end as well.

It may be an issue with Google Play rejecting the transaction, but I'll see if I can figure out what's happening. Sorry about that!

Just a quick check, youre logging in to the game on your app and then going to the purchase though the app right not going to the store itself?

I can offer more support, though Discord usually, ill put the link below, but if you're okay with slower replies while I check into it, we can keep it here.

https://discord.gg/MfBMqFanDm

It was fun to play though, having other options helps the reply for the demo to see if youre sure if you want to buy. I can't find any issues the only feedback I can give is queing the Research, I found the que buildings button in the end.

I tried to find this on android, just checking if its not there or I missed it?

Well, I was looking for idle games as a 2nd screen game, so they came to my wall and knocked it down, and none of them died. Because I tried to idle play it. I dont know if thats helpful feedback, but I just thought with it tagged as idle then not playing like an idle its going to get people come and bounce.

youre right about the tags often being misused together, its really hard to find an idle game these days.

Itch.io definition on their tags:
Focusing on automation and minimal player interaction, idle games let you watch progress unfold over time. Players often engage in occasional interactions like upgrades to influence growth rates or efficiencies, while the game typically accumulates resources autonomously.

I think this is tagged wrong? it came up under idle.

The game stops when you're not focused on the screen.

Sorry to anyone been playing, due to that fact it's free I am not paying the server costs :D

- https://onigashimaidle.netlify.app/ old saves can be found here, just make an account and they will transfer to the new version of this game when you login. (just make sure to save first after making the account)

Sorry again... ive moved to a free server so it wont break again.

That integratiy recovery is blocking prestigege, you just go back in time each time you try to restart

This is great.

That makes total sense now! I'll change the non-combat weapons to have some attack potential so that you can at least try to do combat with them. I think the tutorial needs tweaking, too. In my mind, you would have the spear at that point; maybe I forgot to change it.

Thank you 🙇🙇🙇

Hey! Thanks for checking out Onigashima Idle and leaving a rating. (I don't want to post your name without asking, but I also cannot reply to ratings directly..)

I saw your note about combat not working — I haven’t been able to reproduce it on desktop yet, so I’d love to know what you experienced.

If you’re up for it, could you let me know:

- Desktop or mobile?

- Browser?

- What happened when combat failed?

Really appreciate you giving it a try 🙏
