Version 1.1 added! Give it another try, believe most, if not all, of the issues you've called out have been addressed.

Thanks for you mobile vote. I'm sure Claude can port it, something like only show actions when available to be used would reduce a lot of the keyboard commands showing at one time.

I'll add as something to consider for the sequel, have all content already planned out for this game.

Now available v0.9.1
Until a tutorial is added additional starter help is now available navigation and the most important commands are now summarized earlier in-game when using '?'.

version 0.9.1 added

- **Stairs tell you what they are.** Step onto a staircase and the game now says so: *"A staircase down. Press > to take it."*

- **Floor 1's way up explains itself.** You start the game standing on it, and it stays shut until you're carrying the Amulet. If you try it, the game now tells you the way on is **down**, and how to get there.

- **Pressing `>` or `<` in the wrong place now helps you.** Instead of only "no stairs here", it tells you what to look for on the map.

- **The `?` help page has a new "New here? Start with these" section at the top.** It covers the goal of the game and the handful of keys you need for your first run. The full command list is still below it.

- **New players get a clear pointer as the run begins.** It shows until you've opened the help page once, then gets out of the way.

Really appreciate you taking time to share such detailed feedback, thank you!

I agree. Needs to be smarter, right now too much is based on the % of shadow filled compared to final shape full filled at 100% due to being fully in absolute correct position. Then there's how what looks to be the final shape matches up, but it's the mirror.

One fix would be to accept the mirror matches. The smart part show a more accurate meter will be a greater challange.

Next version will show how well these issues can be addressed.

Thank you for the feedback!

"Astonishing lack of guidance" that's a true classic roguelike for you.

I hear ya just the same, if you've not played a true classic roguelike before using '>' isn't the most logical key though is standard for classic roguelikes.

Till a tutorial is added. Use ? in-game for help.

Thank you for the suggestion.

While tutorials aren't common in classic roguelikes, I can see how it would be beneficial to players newer to the original genre.

For now, using '?' in game will provide basic help. I'll also add the extensive 60+ page README.txt to the game page for download.

thank you!

Actually, here ya go, mobile support!

Tap her to grapple and hold; the rope winds in by itself, drag down to pay out, sideways to swing.
Goes fullscreen and sideways when you pick a woman.
Settings have options for grapple speed.

Yes. Planning to get the gameplay and graphics finalized then will add mobile device support.

Appreciate feedback and suggestions as planning to complete this with another binge dev session in a couple weeks.

Please feel free to share your thoughs, critisims and suggestions.
