Yo! This is a really cool concept, and I genuinely had fun playing it. My main issue was the difficulty scaling. It ramps up too quickly, so it starts feeling overwhelming rather than progressively challenging.

I think this could become a great little arcade game with some more variety. You could add different locations, multiple layouts of the same location, additional enemy types, or special projectiles. For example, a bullet that ricochets between enemies and deals extra damage with every bounce. Multiplayer could also be an interesting long-term direction if it fits your vision.

Based on the core idea alone, I think it is worth rebuilding. It mostly needs a smoother difficulty curve and more content to keep each run feeling fresh.

Thank you so much!  I added a macos build. I'm not sure how will it play on it, so let me know!

Hi! I've checked out your game. Overall it's fun to play, but a bit difficult to control character. Jumps and movement are too fast.

Hi! I spent the past two weeks building my first finished solo prototype, The Final Beacon.

It is a short 2D space exploration/strategy game. You choose a route across a procedurally generated map, pilot a shuttle through different locations, collect resources, purchase upgrades and supplies, and try to keep the expedition alive long enough to reach the Final Beacon.

The visuals are still placeholders, so I’m currently looking for feedback on the core experience:

  • Is the overall objective understandable without an explanation?
  • Does controlling and navigating the shuttle feel good?
  • Do fuel, Jump Cells, scrap, and replacement shuttles create interesting decisions?
  • Do the shops and upgrades feel useful?
  • Did you ever feel lost, confused, or unsure what to do next?
  • Most importantly: would you voluntarily play another run?

If you stop playing, I would also really appreciate knowing where and why.

Thank you for giving it a try. Honest criticism is completely welcome because I’m trying to determine what is worth developing further.
