Thanks for the feedback; that’s exactly the feeling I was aiming for—discomfort, yet a sense of satisfaction. It’s impossible to feel comfortable at such great depths; the darkness really takes over. Thanks a lot for the feedback. I hope you enjoy my other games, too; as I mentioned, I’m a solo dev specializing in game audio, so development is mostly a hobby for me—especially in Pico-8. Working with new engines has been a challenge. Thanks, and best regards from Brazil.

At that part, don’t try to open the locked door right away. Once the fire starts and the game tells you to RUN, just keep moving and avoid the thing chasing you.

Survive the chase for a little while and, once the sequence ends, the fire dies down and the door opens automatically. Then you can continue.

Thank you so much for playing and for your thoughtful comment! I’m really glad the message came through. James 2:13 was exactly the kind of idea I wanted to reflect in the experience — that mercy can be stronger than judgment.

I also appreciate the feedback about the gameplay challenge. That kind of comment really helps me think about how to improve future projects. Thanks again for taking the time to play!

Thank you so much! I’m really glad you enjoyed it.

I’ve always loved difficult games. I grew up with games from the 80s and 90s, when figuring things out, learning enemy patterns, and failing a few times were simply part of the experience. Games today are often much more intuitive and forgiving, so difficulty is something I really value and try to preserve in my own projects.

I’ve been studying and experimenting with PICO-8 for years, even though game development is still more of a hobby for me. My main professional focus is Game Audio — composition, sound design, music production, and audio for games.

PICO-8 is where I prototype a lot of my ideas. I use it to test mechanics, gameplay concepts, visual ideas, and complete game concepts before deciding whether one of them has enough potential to become a larger commercial project.

I’m really happy you liked this one! Feel free to check out my profile and try some of my other games too. I have dozens of PICO-8 projects that I’ve developed over the years, and I’m slowly uploading more of them.

Thanks again for playing and for taking the time to leave feedback. It really means a lot!
