Hey all — I'm building a team for Metroidvania Month Finale (MM34), the final edition of the long-running Metroidvania Month jam. Nov 15 → Dec 15, 2026, 30 days. No max team size, any engine allowed.
What I bring
- Design — world layout and the ability-gating curve, room pacing, combat feel, boss design
- Code — everything programming-side: state machines, player controller, save/load, menus, web build
- Engine: Godot 4 (happy to talk if you'd rather not)
What I'm looking for
- Pixel artist / animator — player run/jump/attack anims, 2–3 enemies, a tileset, a couple of background layers
- SFX / VFX — impact, footsteps, UI, ambient, plus hit sparks, dust, and screen juice
- Developers - Willing to work with a vibe coder
Scope (important) — I want a finished game, not a graveyard demo: roughly 15–30 minutes of play, one ability-gated loop, one boss, a proper ending. If it fits, it ships.
Jam rules worth knowing before you commit
- All material must be made within the jam window (Nov 15 – Dec 15)
- Generative AI is banned for audiovisual content
- Free to play, Teen rating or below
Contact — Discord: realradriddler. Send me a link to your work and one sentence on what you'd like to own. Beginners welcome; I'd rather have someone who finishes than someone with a big portfolio.
I'm recruiting now (pre-jam) so we can start on day one instead of spending week one on introductions.
Hey everyone!
I'm a new game dev joining this jam and I'd love to team up instead of going solo. This will be one of my first jams, so I'm mainly here to learn fast, ship something playable, and actually finish a game in 9 days.
About me
- New to GDevelop and gamedev in general — learning quickly and not afraid to ask questions
- Happy to take on grunt work: asset wrangling, UI, level layout, sound hunting, playtesting, balancing, polish, bug squashing
- Available most of the 9 days and can be online consistently during the jam
- Reliable on communication — I answer on Discord
What I'm looking for
- 1–3 people (team caps at 4) to build something small and finishable around the theme
- Any mix of roles: code/events, art, audio, design, or someone who just wants to jam on ideas
- Beginners welcome. I'd rather have a chill team that finishes than a stressed team that doesn't
- Someone who's okay with keeping the scope tiny — a solid 5-minute game beats an unfinished epic
What I can bring
- Time, energy, and willingness to do whatever's needed
- Fast learning curve — I'll pick up events, extensions, and the asset library as we go
- Flexible on roles; I can fill whatever gap the team has
Plan (rough)
- Squad up before Nov 6, quick intro call or text chat
- Theme drops → brainstorm for a few hours → lock a tiny scope
- Parallel work: core loop first, art/audio second, polish last
- Build to browser, publish to itch.io + gd.games, credit everything properly
If you're also flying solo or have a gap in your team, hit me up on Discord: realradriddler
Tell me a bit about yourself, your timezone, and what you'd want to work on. Even if you're brand new too, message me — beginner teams finishing games is exactly the vibe.
Let's make something fun. 🌍
