Hey everyone!

I’m super excited to share my new 8-bit game, Runner A.P.E.R., which has just launched on itch.io!

If you've ever wanted to combine frantic retro arcade action with a high-stakes Greek culinary emergency involving a runaway goat, this one is for you.

🏛️ The Story

It’s 6:47 a.m. in Kiato. Your Uncle Babis—the finest souvlaki man in Piraeus—has just called you in an absolute panic. The judge of the "Golden Skewer" contest arrives at noon, and Babis left Grandma’s secret spice jar ("DO NOT TOUCH, BABIS") sitting right in Kiato.

Your options?

  • Suburban train: Cancelled “due to the unforeseen presence of a goat on the line.”
  • Taxi: Non-existent, because Babis is literally the only taxi driver in town.

So, you strap in, put the jar in your pocket, and run. Jump the buffer stops, scramble onto train roofs, collect coins for a ticket you never had time to buy, and stay one step ahead of the ticket inspector (who has been chasing you since Loutraki) and the goat.

Fail, and Babis will have to use supermarket oregano. In Piraeus, that is never forgiven.

🕹️ Features & Technical Details

  • Platform: Developed for the Amstrad CPC (includes runner.dsk and an English manual manual_en.pdf).
  • Gameplay: Fast-paced 8-bit track running, obstacle dodging, and coin collecting.
  • Vibe: Pure retro charm meets high-stress Greek family drama.

🔗 Play & Download

You can grab the game and check out the screenshots on the itch.io page below (name your own price):

I’d love to hear what you think, how far you make it, and whether you manage to outrun the goat! Drop your feedback and high scores below. 👇

Hi everyone,

I am Vassilis Perantzakis, a software developer from Greece. I learned programming on an Amstrad CPC 6128 (color monitor) and ever since then I had the dream of creating games for that machine and other retro computers. Work always got in the way. But now... in collaboration with a French dude (Claude) I present to you... Revive8bit. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do playing and creating the games.

Thanks man. And if you have any suggestions, I am all ears.
