Thanks a lot for testing Adventure 1 and for such a detailed write-up, this is really useful.

You nailed something I hadn’t seen clearly: in the first level you can earn points without getting any closer to the gems, so the objective feels disconnected from the satisfying part (the clears). I like your idea of a starting hand that lets a deliberate early row clear free a gem. I’ll rework level 1 so the first clear teaches the goal, and I’ll also look at making the gem progress more visible.

I’ll give Kingdoms a try and focus on your question: is there an interesting choice before the building gets repetitive? I’ll leave my notes on your post once I’ve played it.

Thanks again!

Hi again, I played the new build to the end. The lines now stay long enough to read, and the ending is clear: “the end” plus “nothing to choose, click to start over” tells me exactly where I am. Both issues I mentioned are fixed. Nice work turning feedback around so fast!

thanks

Thanks for sharing Torch! I really like the concept, using the cursor as the only light in a dark room creates a nice mood.

Two things I noticed:

  • The first lines of text went by too fast and I couldn’t read them. A bit more time on screen, or letting the player click to continue, would help.
  • When I reached “Five found. One of them comes back out with you. You already know which.”, I didn’t know what to do next. I wasn’t sure if the game had ended or if I had to choose something. A small hint, or a clear “The End” or “click to choose”, would make it clearer.

Nice atmosphere overall, thanks for playing my game too!

Thanks for playing and for such clear notes! Really glad tap-to-place worked for you on the first try. I added it exactly for people who can’t drag easily, so that’s great to hear.

You’re right on all the unclear points:

  • The first minute doesn’t explain that the goal is clearing full rows and columns, not filling the holes. I’ll add a short first-level tip for that.
  • Gems: I’ll make them stand out more and show a quick hint like “clear the row or column a gem is in to free it”.
  • Language: the game is only in Spanish for now. An English option is next on my list.

Thanks again, and I’ll check out Torch!

Thanks a lot for taking the time to test it, and for the detailed notes! You’re right about the HUD: it counts the gems you’ve freed, so “Gemas restantes: 0 / 4” is misleading. I’ll change it to “Gemas liberadas” (and add an English version of the labels) in the next update. Glad to hear dragging feels right. If you get a chance to finish a level later, I’d love your take on the difficulty. And if you have a game you’d like feedback on, send me the link and I’ll play it!

Also I will be working on the English language for the game.

Hi! I’m looking for feedback on Block Quest, a block puzzle game that runs in the browser. You place pieces on an 8x8 board, clear rows and columns, and chain combos.

Link: https://riphunter.itch.io/block-quest

It has 3 modes: Classic (endless), Adventure (levels with gems to free) and Daily Challenge.

What I’d like feedback on:

  1. Difficulty: do the first Adventure levels feel too easy, too hard or about right?
  2. Controls: is it clear how to place pieces (drag, or tap the piece and then tap the cell)?
  3. Combos: do you notice when you get a combo, and does the multiplier feel rewarding?
  4. Anything confusing in the first minute of play?

One session of 5 minutes is enough. I’ll reply to every comment, and I’m happy to play and give feedback on your game too. Thanks!

Hi everyone! I just released Block Quest, a casual block puzzle game made by a solo dev from Nicaragua.

Place the blocks, clear the lines and see how far you can go. It’s easy to pick up, perfect for short breaks, and it runs well on low-end phones.

Features:

  • Many levels with increasing difficulty
  • Simple one-hand controls
  • Works offline
  • Free to play

Play it here: https://riphunter.itch.io/block-quest Also on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gbapps.blockquest

I’d love to hear what you think, especially about the difficulty curve. Thanks for playing!

Thanks
