1. I've never done (completed) a game jam before.
2. I have this goofy/dumb game idea, and I've procrastinated on it for years.  Well, more like forgot.
3. I really need to keep adding to my library of actual (finished) games.  My country's government loves to make my life hell so writing games has been on the backburner for years off and on.
4. When done (as in, not just after the gamejam but when I'm satisfied with it), I'll release it as a free game on the Windows store.  And yeah, I'll port it to macOS and Linux too, when I feel like it.  A game jam seems like a decent way to advertise if it's popular.

Thanks for the response!  Also, the animations don't change when I use the arrow keys instead of the WASD keys.  The controls have a lot of room for improvement, especially with the sliding physics thingy which adds a bit of unnecessary difficulty.  I prefer the arrow keys myself.  In addition, I fall off the screen if I go to far right after the screen stops scrolling.

I wish I could donate, but I'm beyond poor.  Looks great, and I really like how the artwork resembles the first two Metal Slug games.

Interesting game and concept, but are there any controls beyond moving and jumping?  The screen could also be bigger.  I understand it's a prototype so no harsh critique here.  I like how the game aggravates me and makes me want to play it more.  I'll be watching this one.
