Greetings everyone,
Required information:

https://simant2020.itch.io/stone-tribe My demo has reached potentially its final build and the game is now live and complete for Era 1.  Demo is of course free, the game is 2 euros.

My story and the game I built with lots of help :
I decided 10ish years ago I wanted to make an educational game that will be smothered in realism, drowned in immersion, and filled to the brim with information.  A dream that was building momentum climbing up an impossible mountain that seemed destined for failure.
However, the dream ended up becoming realization after I got injured and was unable to work for a few months.  I have not done this alone, in fact, without the help from friends, support for family, and using Godot with AI assistance, this would never have come to fruition.

What happened was I took the survivor genre, removed a lot of what I didnt like (grinding, push e, the same basic ark), and made a few new mechanics and a completely different take on the way I feel a survival game should be.  People saying "surviving in real life is much easier", "this feels like a meter management game", "I basically built my base by pushing e and using a menu" seemed to be the same way I felt when I played a bunch of games in the genre.

From the movement you spawn in the game, you need to click and drag and throw debris out of your way so you can exit your dilapidated shelter.  Then you can either first encounter a bush where you should crouch down, push some leaves out of the way and pick some berries.  Be careful not to accidentally squish the berries and break the branch.  Then you can go across to the forest and find some mushrooms on the ground, move off some of the leaves covering them and pull them out of the ground.  You can eat things you find, but be careful.  200k years ago, it was harder to identify safe mushrooms vs poisonous ones (still tricky today).  From there, you can explore the demo and see what other features make this game different.

One thing I want you to remember.  I built this game thinking back on my experiences I have had foraging in the wild for blue berries and strawberries, finding some edible mushrooms in a forest, exploring new parts of the world I never been.  Even the day cycle in the game is dynamic based on how much you play it.  Features include a tutorial that is very helpful or out of your face.  Meters that are barely visibly unless you decide to run around all day and night and not eat/drink.  Encyclopedia rich with information, sources and links.

I am by no means a graphic designer, and my experience with blender could be described as frustrating.  But I have played games since the 80s, played a stupid amount of survival games on the phone, on the computer, even on the tablet and it's still my favorite genre (barely ahead of rpgs).  I hope you can check it out, give me some feed back.  I have discord, youtube, email, and the new website.  This is my full time job for the rest of summer and I am fully at your disposal.  If you read to this part, good on you and thank you.  I could use more testers :P.

Thank you for reading,

Most recent youtube video about the game

Thank you.  I hope you find them out, easter egg 1 is currently inaccessible due to some changes (only in tester build), it will be back online tomorrow.  New build coming tomorrow with bug fixes and more.

Today game is live and Era 1 is complete.  Please share thoughts.  Play demo for free or buy the game.  Either way, let us know of how it went.

Greetings everyone,

My project has come a long way in the last few months and I would like to share it with others.  It is available to play free of charge in the demo version that has about 80% of the game, 95% if you use the Jon Hax button in there.

It's an educational survival game based on 200k years ago with a new take on the survival experience.  No more push e to do things, you actually interact with the most basic parts of surviving.
Please check it out, give me feedback so I can improve it before release.  Thank you for your time.
Best regards,

For playing version 0.3 or later:
If you played any earlier version, please go to menu, settings, save and reset game.  This will set your lifetime stats to 0, but it will add a new start you would otherwise never notice :).  Thank you for checking out the game.

If you get the chance to download and play to test the earliest versions, please do NOT donate or pay anything, the game is in its infancy and is not worth a dollar as of yet.  Any feedback is welcomed here or on my discord.  I will have a video up of my playing a more polished version soon.
Update July 6th.  Feel free to play the game in the browser, but donations are now welcomed.  The game has gotten to a point where throwing a few bucks is now acceptable and I will keep track of every penny I get :).  Thank you all
