Thanks for the kind words. Credit goes to Sanchez Crew for the ZX Spectrum Next creation and also Battle City for the old school version. Same when I played it and though it might be nice to share it with some that don't have access to a ZX Next.
I'm glad that you're trying it out. I understand what you mean about the music, for now there is the option to press M to turn it off.
Try hitting the 1, 2 or 3 keys - you can set the pace. Keys are listed on the title page and in game.
