Definitely a short but well thought out title. It's clear that it was made in a time crunch for a Game Jam. However, you can see that it had a clear scope and story / angle for the game. I just wish there were at least 3, maybe 4 enemies.

The pixel art is really good, but I found it to be oddly mismatched. It felt like the scenery and levels were more polished than the bosses. I'm unsure if it's because there's an asset pack being used (fine given it's for a Jam) or there was just a different artist / time spent on the level itself. The same polish on the bosses would be great.

All in all I enjoyed my play-through. It's short and sweet and the bosses are a little difficult out of the gate. However, when you know what's going on, it's quite straight forward.

I found it oddly simple but very self explanatory once you get past the second 'checkpoint'. I think for a small team in a game jam it's a fine example of a proof of concept. Artistically as you progress it conveys a clear message and further in makes you feel what the message is trying to communicate.

I did, however, find the path choice a little odd. I.e. perhaps one is more about the 'darkness' than the other but then it loses consistency. I would have liked to see a little more difference in choice there. I also found the tiled background sprite to really need the floor detail reworked. It's such a major component to the game and yet it has such an obvious graphical issue.

Overall a nice little game jam entry and your team should be proud to have submitted it.

These casual 3D type games really do deserve more attention. They always allow you to just zone out and use a bit of spacial thinking. In this case it's another title that happily does this and nothing more.

Overall I found it easy enough to get to grips with but includes a couple of tricky puzzles. If I had anything negative to say it's sometimes you have to be exactly within the bounds, sometimes you don't. I'm genuinely unsure if there's a mechanic that a high percentage of the item cannot be covered but a small percentage is OK. This seemed to be really sporadic for me. Generally I'd never have the item covered, but sometimes it accepted it anyway. Not enough that you feel like you're being cheated. It is enough though that sometimes you'll chase a solution only to realise in this case it doesn't work.

I'm generally not one to play horror games. They often come across as formulaic and rehash the same mechanics. I wouldn't say this title is any different but given the scale of the project it still works really well. In a short amount of time the dev tells the story of the how and the why while slowly introducing the feeling of dread.

It does play out a little bit in the standard 'Horror' way. You can expect jump scares and high tension sections. Yet it never feels forced or that the map has been made and populated just because.

Overall, it's outside my general wheelhouse but a solid title that's worth a play-through for anyone that enjoys the genre.

This is great basic title with a couple of polished ideas thrown in. There's not a great deal to see, but you can tell there's been thought put into it.

For those that are more exploratory there's more to see. Otherwise you can just do what you're told. There's enough there to get a feel for it and enjoy your time.
