Thanks a lot for playing and for the detailed notes!

You were right about the season label: the header switched to the next season while the harvest card still described the one you had just finished. In 0.2.2 (now live on the page) it reads "season N harvested" until you press "Next season". I also added your suggestion to the level 3 hint: it now points to "Forecast shade" to preview where the sunflower's shadow will fall.

If anyone else tries it: I'm still curious which mode you'd keep playing — Puzzles or Seasons — and what would make a full version worth it.

I'm testing a small prototype before deciding whether to build a full game: Sunplot

You plant a garden on a small grid and press Grow. Tomatoes need sun, ferns need shade, sunflowers grow tall and shade the bed below them, cabbages need a pond, pumpkins need bees from lavender. Puzzles mode has 12 hand-made gardens; Seasons mode is short replayable runs where you pick 2 of 3 plants each season and must beat a rising harvest target.

AI disclosure: the code, art and text were made with Claude (an AI model) under my direction; the page's AI disclosure is filled in. No image generators were used.

What I'd like to know:

  1. Could you play without instructions? Where did you get stuck?
  2. Which mode did you keep playing, and why?
  3. Would a full version interest you? What would it need?
  4. What does it remind you of — and is that one better?

It runs in the browser (desktop and mobile), no sign-up. Blunt answers are welcome — thanks!
