Good news that exact issue is being worked on currently, there were a lot and I mean a lot of breaks separating things out, and I think I am understanding a general amount of how the code works to make my own adjustments and fixing errors such as the time system to it and i'll also take that suggestion for the ui layout into consideration!

That is a good question, and great feedback I very much appreciate it.

In terms of gameplay yes, the game itself will be rather basic since the program is more of a choose your own adventure however if there are other things I could add i'll look into it, In terms of official gameplay everything will be fleshed out a lot more including the scenes, locations, and more npcs, I also plan on giving the player other things as well eventually, this is just a "barebones" prototype as it stands now until I can refine it more to be how I want it to be.
