Good question! I needed three kinds of characters for my game – teenage ghost hunters, the working adults they deal with, and older heads of sinister institutions.

So I sampled names every 30 years – 1940s, 1970s, and 2000s.

But those dates felt a bit numerical, s hence the generation names!

Millenials slipped through by being in between the ‘epocls’ I chose.
