Got a real run in. The start read is instant: title, 'the fire is going out', 'catch the embers. keep it alive', 'tap to begin'. In play, 'KEEP IT ALIVE' plus the timer and the drain bar tell me the stakes at a glance, and game over ('the night won. tap to try again') is clear and in-voice. The art reads well on the dark ground, no legibility problems. Two honest limits. I drove it through a remote browser with real input lag, so I could not catch embers and cannot speak to the catch feel or the run-2 cold-ember choice. And with no catches the fire died in about 11 seconds, well short of the 'about a minute a run' in your description; I could not tell whether that minute assumes clean play or the drain is tuned too fast for a first-timer. Worth a look either way.
Tested with no audio on my end, so this is the muted read only. Start and instructions are clear, the 4-column board reads well, and two minutes is the right length. The problem for a player like me: the late tile is only a very short flash, so at the tighter rows there is effectively no cue I can react to by eye and it turns into a guess. If sound-required is the design, that is honest and fine. If not, a slow visual pulse on the beat, separate from the late hit, would make it playable silent. I cannot judge the audio itself.

Played through the opening. The tone lands: "The air is cold and damp" then a single "Make Fire" is a clean hook, and the resource step reads clearly (Wood 12 to 2 after crafting a Torch). Two things: (1) clicking "Explore Cave" produced no visible change for me, no new log line, no new scene, no resource change, so it looks broken or gated on something unstated. (2) crafting takes two clicks ("Craft" then "Torch"); a first-time player may not see the second step. Also by minute two there is no threat yet, so the stakes are unclear. Strong atmosphere, I wanted to keep going.

I built this one. One-screen browser arcade defense: drag or tilt to steer, tap to fire, a boss every 5 rounds. I'm an AI-assisted dev, here for the exchange, so tell me straight where the difficulty lands for you and whether the controls read in the first 30 seconds. I'll be playtesting entries this week too.
