Nice artwork! I was a bit confused when playing, but from what I gather it’s a clicker game?

If it was expanded, I think some sound effects could make it a bit more fun.

Interesting idea making the total turns deplete both in and outside of battle (I think I had thought of doing something like that before, but never made it).

It currently seems really RNG based and a bit difficult to win in the allotted turns, but I could see this idea being expanded (maybe starting with more leniency in the number of turns).

Been a while since I played an RPG game! It was fun overall!

Cool to see a more classic typing game. The flashing lights hurt my eyes, so I wasn’t able to play much beyond one round though :/

I think that could be improved if just the area where the typed word was showed some kind of effect rather than the whole screen.

Interesting idea (I see we both used Kaykit assets).

I found it kind of confusing how long I was supposed to hold down some of the keys, I think the “hold” vs “press” text could have stood out a bit more. Maybe a different tile color could have been used?

Unique take overall!

Very creative take on the theme! The artwork was very nice!

Minor bug, it appears the zoom level of the itch page affects the text position! This meant when I first started the game the character lines were cut off.

I think you are still able to fix this by enabling the full screen button in the itch settings?

Cutest game I have seen in the jam yet!

Interesting game. Seems there were many games this jam around the theme of minigames/ popups.

I found a minor bug, on the lose screen, it said “popups missed” was “-1”.

It seemed like things got fast a little quickly, I would have liked to see things speed up at a bit of a slower rate.

Fun game overall!

Understandable! Not sure if Unity has this built in (I know Godot does), but when playing a sound, a random pitch and/or volume variation can be used on the game engine side. This means the sound designer doesn’t have to add each variation themselves (unless you want specific variations).

Thanks, glad you liked it!

Interesting and creative game! I had a hard time getting a hang of the controls, it would have been nice if the in game “tutorial” instructions were able to be read without pressing exit. Similar to that, it seems you added a custom fullscreen button, but it was only able to be clicked on the title screen, and not after that (you might still be able to change that in the itch page settings).

At first I didn’t understand that I could only select a planet in range of mine when choosing an some upgrades. Maybe an error sound or something could have been played when clicking a planet that wasn’t in range. Or maybe at the top of the map screen there could have been a prompt saying “choose a nearby planet to mine on” or similar.

The artstyle used for the starting planet was very nice to look at! Nice use of shaders!

Good job overall!

Interesting game! Seems like you guys combined a lot of different ideas into one game for such a short time frame!

One minor bug I noticed was that it seemed that you had the enter key set up to advance dialog, but if there was no more dialog following, then enter did not work (left click had to be used). Maybe this was related to the dialogue box not being focused?

Overall, good job!

The effects really make things feel like the time period! It’s a bit hard to read the instruction text though image.png

Cool game! Thanks for making allowing the entire game to be played with keyboard!

One minor thing would be to make the cooldown more obvious on the bomb. I see there is a circle that fills radially, but it can be hard to see at a glance how full it is. The number helps, but I think more contrast on the filling circle would be nice.

Fun game overall!

Interesting idea! First speedrunning style game I’ve seen.

Something that I think could be better is having some varied sound effects (both adding unique sounds and randomized variation to the ones that do play). The current one got annoying after a bit.

Good job overall!

That was quite chaotic after I got the watermelon haha.

That was cleaver how you chose an idea that was easy to add upgrades to that are just adding or removing numbers from a timer, very easy to do under the jam time pressure.

Was not expecting that ending.

Interesting game! Got a bit challenging a bit quickly.

Just wondering, does your username come from “Cal Zone” from Absol blogs pokemon?

Gameplay was a bit repetitive, but the intro was well done!

Cool game! I like the opponent’s artstyle, reminds me of Ed Edd ’n Eddy haha.

I don’t know what minigames the opponent is getting where he can consistently get them in 2-3 clicks, and not have to click 9 nine buttons, but I think he’s cheating! :P

Not sure if this is already the case, but it could be cool if the more turns that the game goes on for, then the more like it is for the opponent to mess up and take longer.

Well done!

Interesting idea. I didn’t realize in my first run that I could press the number key for tiles that I wasn’t standing on (I confused the fact that the pickaxe only works on the below tile with the numbers).

Glad you liked it. I had some inspiration from TIS-100 and their external manual. I would recommend that game if you haven’t played it.

Thanks! Glad you liked it!

Very creative take on the theme.

It was a bit much in terms of clicking for me, so for accessibility if the game was worked on more, I would recommend supporting spacebar or similar as well as left click. Or maybe as an expansion a rectangular selection could be made to grab more than one feather at once.

oh I missed that (I never got enough to afford it). Maybe I’ll give it another go!

For being unfinished, the sparks particle effect is really nice. The title screen too!

I found it a bit awkward that the camera followed the mouse, but it might have been better if the camera always followed the crane.

Hope you either get to work on the game post jam, or reuse these nice effects in a future project!

Not sure if you’re aware, but the web build was not uploaded, even though it was marked as such. Looks like only a downloadable version was uploaded.

Nice creative take on the theme!

Not sure if it was intended, but it’s interesting how some of the gems end up on the ceiling, and so unless you come in from the top, they are basically trapped haha.

I think I kept going after some of the same ones a few times just to remember that they didn’t have a tile to stand on nearby haha.

Nice job!

(1 edit)

Interesting game!

Not sure if this was intended, or if the instructions were wrong, but I was able to move the claw up and down, not just left and right. This seems to make the timer on the claw inaccurate.

I also found it funny how the button jokes about there not being time for proper UI haha.

Very creative take on the theme!

Very creative take on the theme! The artwork is well made!

I got 1:31 as my time. (4th place :/ )

I found it a bit confusing at first how to tell what was in my bag vs stomach, so maybe a different background could have been used for the bag side vs the stomach.

Difficulty seemed a bit high as well, though maybe I could place better in the race know that I know how it works. I lost 3 times and completed 2 races. Was the enemy AI for each racer random? They all seemed to generally stay grouped together.

With some set tracks rather than random, and the backgrounds to match, I bet this could be expanded into a bigger release!

Good job!

I like how meta your game is! Very relatable and enjoyable!

Getting the sound effects is place was a bit hard, but I got it the second time around!

Not sure if I was missing something, but it seemed that the draw player task was not getting marked off? Was I supposed to draw the one that showed in the preview?

I also think a slight bug is that the bug squashing minigame doesn’t seem to detect in the right spot when the game is not in full screen (Unity bug), so for others, I recommend

PLAY IN FULL SCREEN

Great game overall!

Amazing game! The sound effects are great!

I scored 49.06 seconds.

Some potential ideas for expansion would be to add more visual things in the background, or maybe more people join in to help blow it out (just for visual, no gameplay effect).

Just wondering, what engine is this?

Well done!

Fun game! I liked the synergy with the different giraffe cards!

If you want to expand on it in the future, having a sound play when a card is played or ability activated could be really satisfying, but understandable if you ran out of time.

Very creative game!

Cool game! It’s funny how the levels get harder from being able to move faster. I kept over shooting!

Props for allowing different controls as well!

Good job!

Interesting game! I got the grapple upgrade, but I wasn’t sure how to use it. It also wasn’t obvious that sprinting was available by holding shift.

Maybe instructions could be added to the itch description?

Fun game overall! Took me back to the days of playing games on Cartoon Network (the hamster one).

Fun game! I won in 239 seconds. I could definitely see this get expanded with more upgrades to extend play time.

Thanks haha

yeah it was

It seems the game has swapped out, but is there a keyboard button I am meant to press to open the door? I can’t seem to find one that works. I can also just fall to the right of the door and get soft locked.

Interesting game, I see the inspiration from the “Run” series on coolmath games.

Some minor feedback I would give is

  • there was a seemingly random electric sound, not sure what it indicated.
  • The “death” animation could have shown a bit more besides a fade to black

Nice blast from the past!

uh I think you might have submitted the wrong game? The one playable in the browser is a Kenney asset-platformer game? It does not seem to match the thumbnail or asset pack you mentioned using.

But the platformer game was interesting!
