It was quite fun, a great simple idea, but i feel like the difficulty of the game is either scaling pretty slowly or does not scale at all…? ( which makes it almost too easy ).

Thanks, glad you liked it :)

Thanks! Yeah, I surely need to fix and improve the progression, as I didn’t have enough time to test and polish it out, as now it just forces you to mostly brute-force without much understanding. I even think that having a mode without fire can work too…

i already understand how to solve it so i can’t really speak as a complete beginner, but i feel that it is pretty clear: if you don’t understand what you’re doing, it guides you through, but if you figure it out before it finishes teaching you, the game still allows you to solve the task your way.

Woah, thanks for your reply. It is my first proper game-jam entry and yeah, you’ve guessed it, i’m a web dev. The game is actually made in PyGame ( just because python somehow makes me spend less time designing proper implementations and just writing code and it compiles into .html pretty easily, and also it was quite fun to learn it ).

I agree with you, the progression is quite hard. I just haven’t had enough time to fully think it out after designing and implementing the game mechanics themselves, but if I were to polish the game more - that would be the thing i would do first for sure. Even I cant get more than like 60% lol

The thing is, I think showing user if the step that they’ve just made is correct before final submission kinda allows for easier bruteforcing ( it is possible now just by looking at the decrypted phrase, but it still requires some time). I’ve tried to fix that by making so until you’ve completed a round with the newly added filters no new filters will be added and no difficulty would be increased as well as later adding only 1 filter per successfully decoded message, but then the overall pressure of time running out and growing count of filters kinda overwhelms you…

The UX could easily for sure be better. My code for resolving drag and drop in the rotor order is quite… mediocre and because of that it could be frustrating to quickly reorder things. So click-and-click is a really feasible addition, you’re right.

I think i could’ve made that the burn time is increased in each difficulty rather than staying static, so more filters = more time. However, as I need to mostly redo the progression and make it more gradual, then maybe the burning time gradually increasing can be incorporated into that too.

Thank you again for such a detailed feedback, it’s really a good peace of advice. And I’ll for sure try to participate in your jam again and start a thread next time ( when making this game i just didn’t have much time and wanted to finish it during the weekend :> )

crazy, best 1 second game i’ve ever seen

it’s just so cool, especially the art!

wou, ačiū! jo, daug laiko užtruko pačio raycast parašymui, kad po to galėčiau daryti visokias haliucinacijas ( ir dėl to beveik neliko laiko actually žaidimui ). Hah, jooo, nevisai spėjau pabaigti story line, tad nevisai buvo aišku kad išėjimas nėra namai. Ir sorry dėl esc :|

as ikeliau bet neleido i project page, tai kol kas i share savo idejau

riight

blemba o as žygyje dabar vistiek. reikejo patestioti builsa lol…

I use moderngl/skia/glfw with python, but I couldn’t select that in the game edit page. I think they should add Other or something

haha yeah, never thought about that. thanks for the feedback!

Music was extremely loud and distorted when i opened the game, IDK if that’s an issue on my end, but music slider was not making it quieter ( i run it thru proton on linux ). also, i couldnd’t reach the frame in level 2 and the capture was LMB, not RMB as said in the tutorial. Overall its a good idea but i couldnt complete the game past the 2nd level.

Really dig that aesthetic. sound and visuals are perfect imo. also, thanks for the linux build, i also had issues with mouse ( firefox too ) in web build.

thanks for building for linux, really appreciated.

the images disturbed me so much lol

i really liked the sfx and music, also, the art is very good for such a short time.

Thanks a lot, yeah, i tough of adding a way to disable the CRT shaders, but it was removed somewhere along the way.
