Loving this

I had such strong nostalgia for Heroes of Might and Magic III - one of the best games ever made IMO .. but every time I actually tried to go back to it... I bounced off. I wanted THAT FEELING again, but not necessarily to spend hours going back and forth across an old HoMM3 map doing all the HoMM3 things again : )

I basically wanted something I could play in quick comfy runs and still get that little fantasy-world feeling of ooo what's over there → grab this → build this → get stronger → oh shit there's an army there → maybe I can take that castle ...

And Kingdom Hex somehow does it !

It feels almost like a "liberated HoMM3" to me... Like somebody took the part I was actually nostalgic for.. exploring a comfy fantasy world, building up your little kingdom and army, finding treasures and weird things, getting stronger, deciding where to push next...... and then just LET IT OUT into this gorgeous hex world

the map is beautiful and there's always some little thing you want to go uncover or grab or do next... and it has that dangerous "ok one more run" feeling... you know the one

well executed, compelling story, cool gameplay and nice art... hits all the right notes

it's really nice, cool story & idea, and runs beautifully, can't believe this was completed in a week!
