*Please let your team members know of these details*
Thank you again for all your efforts during the Game Jam. This post is regarding the upcoming Game Jam Awards Night. Please also be sure to let your fellow team members know of the details as it seems only 50% of participants have joined the itch page.
Date: Thursday 2nd July
Time: 5:30pm - 8pm
Venue: PNR Learning Studio 310 (main), PNR Learning Studio 315 (additional game showcase space), PNR Learning Studio 316 (additional game showcase space).
Agenda Summary: Full catering provided. Food will be served from 5:30pm-6pm, presentation of awards will be from 6pm-6:30pm. Food will be served again from 6:30pm during the game showcase until 7:30pm/8pm.
At the start of the night we will announce the winning teams as voted by the judges. We will only announce the top 5 teams publicly and highlight the teams selected to continue working on their games with University incubation space provided + fully funded trip to exhibit at PAX. We are aiming to begin the presentation of awards at 6pm so please arrive on time.
We also have surprise awards outside of the main awards, where recipients will be awarded official certificates from the University. For example, we have an award for 'best game soundtrack'.
The game showcase will also run throughout the night, you may bring your own laptop or connect to one of the displays in the room. The game showcase booths will be on a first come first serve basis so please try to arrive early to select your desired location. Please ensure at least 1 member of your team is present to showcase your game on the night. You are free to showcase your game and try other games all throughout the night except during the official presentation times. Please use this oppurtunity to network with other teams and provide feedback as we hope many of you will continue to work on your games regardless of the results.
We will post further details as we receive them. For now, please let me know any questions you may have by replying to this thread of contacting me at karlos.ishac@sydney.edu.au
All the best.

Dear Students,
Well done to all teams for all your incredible work over the last 3 days! In total we have received 39 submissions.
Judging has officially started and will finalize by Tuesday June 30th midnight.
Please make sure your game page is accessible to the judges. There have been some pages with 'could not be found' errors so please check. If you have password protected your page you should make it clear to the Staff how to access your page (either by email or on itch). It is your responsibility to ensure your game can be acessed and tested by judges, so plesae take time to verify this. This also means ensuring your game is listed as 'free' for the time being.
We will also follow up with details on the Awards Night early next week. You are free to continue working on your game for the game showcase at the Awards night next week (but voting is only conducted on the game version that was submitted).
For now we hope you all enjoy a well deserved break over the weekend!
All the best,
USYD Game Jam Team
Dear Students,
If you have had issues with submitting your game page such as upload size >1GB, please contact karlos.ishac@sydney.edu.au today by 10am explaining your issue and we will try to support. Please note that no changes to your game files are allowed after 9am today.
All the best,
USYD Game Jam Team
Dear Students,
We hope you are all enjoying the Game Jam and your games are progressing smoothly.
Today's main quest is to register your team and game details with a tutor in-person or using the online form below. This will be used to cross reference with the itch io submissions and to contact the relevant team members with their rankings next week. We will also use this information for future communications on the Game Jam and related events.
The form can also be used to update your team name in case your team was assigned a number to begin with, such as Team 2 -> [new team name].
Please spend either 5 minutes with a tutor today to finalize this step or complete it online using this form:

We look forward to seeing many of you at the BBQ at 12 midday today.
All the best with the final full day of the Game Jam.

Dear Students,
A reminder that we will be at PNR Learning Hub again from tomorrow 9am Thursday June 25th. All tutors will be there until 5pm and this will be your last chance to get feedback on your game before the submission deadline. This can also include advice on your project page.
We will also hold another BBQ during lunch at 12 midday.
Looking forward to seeing many of you there!
All the best,
Game Jam Team
Dear Students,
The Game Jam submission page will go live from tomorrow and when it does you will be able to start submitting your games.
To submit your game you should create a game/project page on itch which includes the executable files for your game. You may also choose to embed your game on your project page although this is optional.
Your project page should also include your team name, game name and a short summary of what your game is about.
You may also upload a gameplay demo or screenshots of your game. There is a lot of flexibility around what you include in your project page, but keep in mind that each judge will only have a few minutes to test each game so please ensure the important details you would like to showcase are included in your project page and game.
Most importantly, the deadline is 9am Friday (June 26th). There will be no exceptions to submit your game after this time, so please be sure to submit on time.
You do not need to attend campus on Friday and you do not need to give a presentation about your game, the presentation should all be captured in the project page you submit.
From 9am Friday, the 5 judges will then test each game (10 minutes per game) and provide a score based on the voting criteria.
Your score will be revealed by Tuesday next week and the top 3 teams along with the 2 runner ups will be revealed during the Awards night on July 2nd held in PNR 310. All Staff and teams are invited to join the awards night next week. Details of the awards night will be posted at a later date.
Please let us know if there are any questions.
All the best.
