You're going to have to use GPU or open router.  See the bug report for the reason why.

I'm unable to connect to the AI server when I start up the game currently.  I'm assuming it's due to high traffic or something.  Just posting something just in case it isn't due to that.

The being unable to run is normal.  It happened to me when having conversations with multiple NPCs.  I don't have a technical way to prevent it but I was able to side step it by waiting for him to get close then start a multi NPC conversation with Darian included.  Also maybe gift someone the pendent and get a different one.

I recall having a similar issue.  Do you know what the trigger for it is?  Or what you were doing before he gets to you?

I think I read that there might be three but I've only found two so far.  You need to get the two keys pieces in the mushroom cave to get into the Frozen Fortress.  It's in the snow area to the west of Silverpine.  It should visible on the map.  As for NPC's I haven't spotted any so far.

I'm happy I spent the money on this.  There are certainly some issues that the other comments have addressed but I enjoy playing this game.   I'm still getting the hang of the how to play but I think it's solid so far.   

If I may make some minor suggestions, (and forgive me if this has already been said in another comment) I would say adding a compass to the map (north isn't what I thought it was), potentially having an option to follow an NPC and having an option to control your character via dialogue (ex: Matt moved to sit on the chair next to the fireplace).
