There's a stat button the raid popup that shows the items you've found and the enemies you've encountered, there was a bug that was making it close off way faster than anticipated though.
Thanks for the feedback, I think a lot of the trouble people are having is that a lot of the guidance is under the Advisor popup, but it's very easy to miss.
First impressions:
Gunplay feels really good for all the weapons (there's apparently a flamethrower but I didn't find it). Pistol (or the default weapon) maybe could deal a bit more damage and have a little more punch to it, but overall it feels great. Don't think there was enough ammo though, wasn't even missing most of my shots but was still constantly running out. Maybe the crates could break and drop ammo?
Not a huge fan of how weapons are equipped though. I think it'd work better if you could just cycle through every weapon in your inventory instead of having 3 slots. Also feel like grenades should just work by pressing G or something instead of having to switch to them.
Good work!
Played for about 20 or so minutes, here were my first impressions.
Movement and everything feels smooth and the combat was easy to understand. I don't know if I missed something, but the only thing I was confused about is the inventory. Pressing C opens what I assume is a crafting menu, but I can't equip/drop/use from there. That didn't make much sense to me. I pressed every other button and the only way to equip was to find a drawer or chest first.
Combat and enemy AI was decent too, but the melee range (was using hammer and candleabra) felt a bit too short so I was commonly trading hits with the enemies. This made fighting more than one enemy at a time really hard, they don't get stunned long enough so I was getting hit and getting stunlocked in return.
Rest of my problems (UI is a bit small and doesn't seem to be a way to increase the size, and there was a nonsolid window I accidentally walked through in the room with the plague doctor) are just that the game is in development though.
Keep it up!
0.11.4.0 - Clean Up
Additions:
- Dropping an item on a start raid slot now adds it to that hero's inventory.
Other Changes:
- The order of crafting recipes has been tweaked so that earlier recipes appear first.
- When heroes had no weapon equipped, it was counting as if they had a broken weapon, this has been fixed. (Not really a bug, was just considering the empty slot at 0 weapon durability.)
- In raids, three sound effects can now play at the same time instead of two. Previously, some stuff was being cut off and not playing right, but that should be fixed.
- Skill effects are now drawn above the popup top bar.
Bug Fixes:
- The guide can no longer have an automation condition. Oops, accidentally copied that part over from the craft popup.
- Fixed an odd side effect of the new swap system with the crafting popup.
- Unlocking skills with the training popup was broken, level 2 gymnasiums were unlocking level 3 skills and visa-versa.
- The player never opened the options menu, the game's defaults were broken. This only really impacted the options where popups were started as pins automatically, but it was likely impacting a lot of people nonetheless. Sorry about that.
0.11.3.0
Additions:
- Dragging and dropping items and heroes between different slots on popups now swaps the item instead of replacing them!
Other Changes:
- Popup tutorials past the initial setup no longer start automatically on the first load, if you want to play the tutorial click the flashing "popup help" button.
Balance:
- The guild now starts with $1500 again.
- On the first day, the game now speeds up automatically more leniently. (Cannot automatically speed it up on day 1.)
- Orders now unlock after 4 raids again.
- Leniency for room fullness has been reduced again.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a crash caused by making a guild hall too big.
- A couple variables were only being setup properly on load when an hour had passed, this has been fixed.
- Expense and profit values are now wiped when the week ends.
- Dragging a potion onto a raid staples slot on a hero popup no longer uses the potion to heal the player.
- Some text formating issues have been fixed.
- Fixed a dungeon related crash that could have been related to the tome skill.
- Clicking on the time indicator wasn't speeding the game up as much as it should have been, which was causing a bug.
0.10.4.0
Additions:
- Rerolling intermediate and advanced skills is no longer random, you'll advance in the skill list depending on how long you're training, instead.
- Added skill crystals! Crafting refined glass and magic dust will give you a mana crystal. Dragging it over to a hero portrait changes their advanced and intermediate skills! (Same as above, but each crystal represents one.)
- Tweaked the time system to consolidate some stuff. Variable time and normal speed have been merged into one. The faster setting also uses variable time, too. There was little reason to ever use the normal setting before, so that has been fixed. (Also, 3x speed is now 4x speed. There were some strange time stutters at 3x.)
- Dragging potions to heroes that aren't in a raid or tournament now heals them so they can get back to raiding faster.
- Merged the inventory filter for clothing and weapons, and instead added a filter for relic items, and a filter for raid consumables.
- You can now sort items whether or not they're new, and for the age of the item. Sorting wasn't working well before, and now should be. Old files may be glitched in this regard as the indexes being saved are not set up properly.
Other Changes:
- Added some more guidelines while moving objects in the guild hall.
- Some popups have had slight tweaks so that text is easier to read.
- Some saving has been trimmed down.
- Tournament signups now start one day later.
- Hero raid staples that are out of stock are now shown in red on the pin.
- Newly hired heroes now get picked by the start raid auto selector.
- A couple of default colour schemes have been tweaked to look brighter and be easier to read.
- The custom colour sprite no longer includes the last colour as that is now automatically generated.
- Tweaked the text on the "Get the ball rolling!" list.
Balance:
- Slightly increased the reputation cost for missing an order again. (Around a 18.5% increase.)
- Retooled how much the guild pays when heroes die. (Was using an old calculation for hero wages multiplied by 120, so was far higher than it should have been. It's now effectively 2 weeks of pay.)
- Enemies now target the first hero in the party more often, and the last hero in the party less often. (This was sort of already in, but not functioning properly. It was actually impacting enemies, not heroes. Oops.)
- Material furniture now has a 7.5% stat boost if the floor is the same level as the furniture, and a 7.5% boost per level if the furniture is non-material.
- Retooled random rewards from orders slightly. (Less potions, more materials.)
- Heroes will now ask for raises much less.
- The Apothecary now longer sells Slimy Elixir as early.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a potential crash caused by unlocking skills.
- Fixed the Big Top mission not randomizing crafted items.
- Some popup buttons could be clicked when the popup didn't have priority, and now can't.
- Double clicking to restart the popup's size no longer messes up if the default size is larger than what it was before.
- Fixed a crash caused by loading a file with a crafting pin open.
- Fixed a bug that was causing the rival guilds on the audit popup to get mismatched.
- Fixed some strangeness with hero raid staples.
- Completing the Big Top mission no longer counts as completing the demo mission and visa-versa.
- Fixed a couple weird issue with items and skills in raids.
- Raid statistics popups are no longer saved.
- Super potions were not being merged automatically and now are.
0.10.3.0
Additions:
- Half potions are now automatically merged when found.
- Rooms with enough furniture in them will now automatically get some nice wooden flooring to match the material quality.
- You can now edit hero raid staples through the hero info pin, and equip weapons and clothing.
- Double clicking on the top bar of popups now restarts the popup size to the default.
- When hovering over the scrap while dragging an item now shows you what the item will be scrapped for.
- You'll now be alerted when a starred hero finishes work for the day.
Other Changes:
- Tweaked how the raid auto-selection works again. Now, heroes who have battled together previously are more likely to be paired up. Raid leaders are more likely to be picked as raid leaders again, too.
- When heroes level up, the skill they've unlocked, or stat they've improved is now a part of the alert.
- Non-important alert messages are now smaller than normal ones, to make them stand out more.
- Updated some unhelpful hover texts and descriptions.
- The guild hall now completes construction if a hero dies, to prevent weird softlocks.
- Made the background slightly darker so that it is easier to read.
- Order/Container loot has been reworked to be way more actually random. It was using a modified version of the random drop table for enemies before.
- You can no longer speed the game up during off-hours on the first day to prevent players getting overwhelmed.
- Changed how resource gathering works in-raid slightly. Previously if a hero's inventory was full, it would not try and reroll to fill another hero inventory, it does now.
- The Gladius Challenge map can no longer spawn multiple times, and the chance of spawning is based on reputation again.
- The game is now clamped to 1280px by 720px again. Sorry about that, but it was causing issues with the menu at 800px.
- Dropping an item into the recipe slot on the crafting popup no longer updates the recipe if the product is the same as the current recipe.
- Heroes will now request to have weapons repaired.
- Heroes will now go out on projects if their energy is above 10%, not 20%.
Balance:
- Volatile Slimes now take a bit longer to start sizzling.
- Locusts now have less health.
- Increased how lenient a room being considered "full" is.
- The Big Top: Crafted items are no longer scrapped, but the chance of an item being randomized has been increased.
- The Explorer service now grabs from the order drop table, not the enemy drop table.
- The tournament entry fee is now decided when tournament signups start.
- Rooms now get dirty slower.
- Weapon quality is no longer clamped at Dull. This is more of a bug fix, but still.
- Heres will no longer use status and stat potions after they've already found the chest.
Bug Fixes:
- Returning to the menu now properly resets campaign mode variables.
- Changing screen scale and then returning back to the main menu no longer reverts it back to a glitchy state.
- Fixed a huge bug where having the guild hall open would mess with anything that is random at all, locking it to only 2 possible states. A huge list of bugs have been fixed by this getting fixed, such as...
- Fixed an issue with the Big Top mission where crafting would always result in the same output.
- Fixed an issue where enemies and heroes would get into loops missing/standing around every attack.
- Fixed an issue where particles on popups would spawn in the same place every frame.
- It is no longer possible to open up locked icons through the advisor button.
- Fixed some strangeness with the (couple patches back) change to how popup buttons work.
- The item storage will no longer show empty pages.
- Item Storage pins will no longer spawn broken.
- The hero info tutorial will now start when expected.
- For the final time, since I for sure exhaustingly tested all edge cases and made sure it was fixed this time, actually opening containers no longer counts as crafting the item.
- Fixed a bug related to resizing the window ingame.
- The Arms Dealer now requires level 1.5 training, not crafting like the description says.
- Fixed trying to view tournament brackets without a full team and the money to enter.
A lot of the customization is tied to items and clothing sets, though I could probably label them as tank/healing/damage/support based as that's what the designs currently fall under.
You can't change project start times, but you can cancel and restart them. Hero shift schedules are changed in the hero info popup, I think a tutorial is supposed to start later on but isn't for that though.
There's also some automation but it isn't really intuitive or fleshed out well right now.
Thanks for playing, I'll try and make crafting a lot more smooth, there is some bugs associated with it right now. I'll probably also auto-merge half potions as there's not really a reason not to.
0.10.2.0
Other Changes:
- Improved popup functionality further.
- Raids in the raid list now appear from earliest to latest, rather than latest to earliest as they were before.
- The Project and Start Raid popups have had slight makeovers.
- You'll now be informed when un-starred heroes level up.
- Tutorials have been fixed and polished a bit more.
- Refined raid pathfinding behavior even further.
- The Tournament icon is now unlocked when you have three heroes on the same shift, or when tournaments would normally unlock. Also, old files with tournaments running will be broken as a result, sorry.
- Changed how rival guild names worked as they did not before.
- Skirmishes can now be run any time, even when tournaments are running.
- Tournaments now run more often.
- Slightly tweaked the Spring and Night color schemes.
- You will no longer be constantly asked to check Ventura before the "Get The Ball Rolling" list is complete.
Balance:
- The Farmer clothing set's bonus has been nerfed and the number of extra gathers is now random.
- Slightly less items are now gathered from gathering nodes. (Tweaked the number last patch and didn't really have time to properly tune it.)
- Heroes now have their health restored when they start and finish tournament and skirmish battles.
- Heroes can no longer get sick while a tournament is running, the magic of competition stops it.
- Orders now unlock after 5 raids again.
- Reduced the amount of reputation guilds get from winning tournaments.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed some oddities with hover boxes and hover text.
- Some items had no price and now do.
- Placing a hero in a guest room with a shop or service lodging inside will no longer crash the game.
- Heroes were attacking considerably faster in tournaments than rival guilds were.
- Heroes who have died in skirmishes will no longer continually battle until they win. This was likely happening in raids as well, and was probably resulting in times where heroes were revived.
- Rival guild weapon gem and clothing sets were previously all not working.
- Fixed the raid clickbox on the raid list popup.
- Building a new room right next to an old one no longer glitches up the walls.
- Fixed a crash on the dungeon list.
0.10.1.0 - Emergency Patch
Balance:
- The chainmail set was by far the worst set in the game. Now, instead of granting bleed immunity, it now drastically reduces how long all status effects last.
- Farmer Set: Changed how it functions, now increases the amount of items the team can gather.
- The Trusty Pickaxe is now much more effective.
- Heroes will now get lost in raids a bit more often.
Other Changes:
- Improved hero movement behavior in raids.
Bug Fixes:
- Heroes were not gaining experience in raids unless they have spectacles. Sorry about the quick patch, but this is a major bug that needs to be fixed.
Other Changes:
- Dungeons are now viewable for much longer after they finish.
- Projects are now delayed if heroes are too tired to participate. (Less than 20% energy.)
- Dragging an item to the inventory selection button on the start raid popup now adds the item to a random hero's inventory.
- Non-critical alert popups now stay on the screen considerably shorter.
- Hovers will no longer vanish for a bit when the text is updated.
- Items in the scrap section of the item storage will now be scrapped ALL times except when bought, previously they were only scrapped if found in a raid.
- Dragging a drop over the item storage page button will move the pages.
Bug Fixes:
- A previous change to hero fleeing broke something and it was never happening, this has been fixed.
- In exceptionally rare cases, enemies could drop raider's digest awards and no longer can.
- Fixed a crash caused by scrolling on the raids popup.
- Raids past 0 star difficult can no longer give decimal value cash rewards. (This wasn't actually happening and was just visual.)
- I know I've probably fixed this seven times now, but for actually real this time, opening containers no longer counts as crafting the items in the container.
0.9.5.0
Additions:
- Added an activity section to the hero list.
- New relic: Shiny Spectacles. Increases experience gain rate in raids by 20% when held.
- Added a toggle on the guild hall builder to specifically expand or create rooms.
Other Changes:
- The Quiz Master's boxes (and order rewards) used to not be able to give clothing and weapons, and now can. Also they have been renamed as the last name was a placeholder for an item the player was never supposed to see.
- Pinned and un-minimized popups now have priority when created.
- Made resizing and dragging popups a bit smoother.
- Added some missing hover tooltips.
- The Guild Overview icon now becomes visible on day 2, not when an audit comes through.
- The Item Storage and Shop popups now have bigger item icons. Sorry, this also means you'll have less shown on the popup, but at the same time this was very heavily requested.
- Popups will no longer always spawn in the middle of the screen in compact mode UNLESS the screen is smaller than 900 px big.
Balance:
- In the Big Top mission, crafted items are no longer always deleted. Instead, there is a 20% chance they're deleted, and a 20% chance they get turned to a random item.
- Orders can now request relic items.
- As the shop now has less icons on the popup, the maximum amount of items that can be carried by shops has also been reduced. (Was 36 before, and has been reduced to 30.)
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed some misaligned text related to shops. Oops.
- Campaign variables were not properly being saved across save files, and now are.
- Fixed a crash caused by the projects icon.
0.9.4.0
Additions:
- Services are now based on tier! Unlock tier 2 services at 1000 guild rating, and tier 3 services at 4000.
- New service added at tier 3. Promoter. When in the guild, either one or two extra raids and orders will be available to the guild, daily. I don't anticipate anyone unlocking this in the demo, but it's there regardless.
- New mission. The Big Top. A pseudo-randomizer, crafting either scraps the item, or creates a random drop. Every day, a merchant that sells random items will appear in the guild, as well.
Other Changes:
- The compact and speedup buttons are now always drawn on top of popups.
- Hover messages are now drawn over everything, and are clamped to not go offscreen.
- Services now appear in the merchant section of the guide, now called "guests."
Balance:
- Tweaked the auto selection for raids again slightly.
- Expiring projects no longer reduce reputation as much.
Bug Fixes:

0.9.3.0
Additions:
- Added a new UI option, compact mode. When playing in a smaller screen, this will automatically turn on unless changed in the options menu.
- Added a small reminder for Ventura's "Get the Ball Rolling..." tasks.

- The smallest size a window can be is now 900x720, though this is not reccomended.
- Some of the positioning of stuff has been moved slightly.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a crash related to dungeon orders.

- Guild metrics were not saving properly before, and now are.

Other Changes:
- Tweaked the "Get the Ball Rolling..." popup slightly.
- It is now possible to spam click the guide to craft items again.
- Heroes with the "farmer" set are more likely to get resource drops, and team leaders are now more likely to get loot drops.
Balance:
- Tweaked the way guild rating is calculated slightly, as to not overly punish large rooms while encourage smaller rooms at the same time.
- Heroes now have a "sleep quality" that is based on how many other heroes are working when they are supposed to be sleeping. This determines how likely they are to have a bad sleep. Unhappy/Happy heroes are also more/less likely to have bad sleeps.
- Tweaked the formula that determines the maximum of exhaustion that can be recovered based on room stats.
- Heroes will now get at least one roll at resource nodes. Note, this doesnt mean they WILL get drops, as some of the nodes have an empty drop as a potential roll. This may be a bit overtweaked, during testing I was getting far more resources than usual but in reality it shouldn't be doing that much. May be nerfed in the future based on more testing.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a crash caused by hero related tips.
- Sick heroes no longer prevent the auto speedup from activating.
- Fixed a crash caused by Pharaoh Tensis.
- The tournament battle popup is no longer gargantuan.
- Fixed a bug where only one member of a guild team would get gathering loot.

Other Changes:
- Crafted equipment should now more commonly be an item the guild (probably) needs.
- Room stats now impact the performance of service guests.
- Some parts of the game were saying that heroes worked 11 hours a day when they actually work 10.
- Instead of passing illness onto others when they wake up, heroes now have a chance to CATCH illness when they wake up.
- Crafting recipes are now unlocked when they are crafted, not discovered.
Balance:
- Hero base wages have been increased slightly.
- When unlocking a new raid with a tattered map, you no longer have to use another map to actually raid it.
- Before placing a notice board, the guild can now only recieve small orders.
- Basic (green, blue, red) potions and slimes have had their prices slashed.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a glitch with the crafting guide filter.
- Clicking to return to the game while paused no longer softlocks the game.
0.8.8.0
Other Changes:
- Shifted the holiday and speedup boxes down so that they don't overlap with pins placed at the top of the screen.
- Improved the pathfinding during raids so heroes get in loops less.
- The time speedup when heroes aren't fit to raid is now even faster.
- Improved the selection criteria for the autofill button on the startraid popup.
- The project popup now shows when heroes are on shift.
- Rearranged and fixed the Getting the Ball Rolling popup.

- Explosive barrels now drop less items.
Bug Fixes:
- Volatile bombs are no longer considered 1 star on the guide, allowing players to craft them early.
0.8.6.0
Additions:
- Revamped the initial tutorial to consolidate a lot of the text into one area and reduce a lot of the flashing popups and stuff. I'm not going to lie, this was rushed out to meet the end of Next Fest, so I'm anticipating some potential bugs. As far as I tested, I could not find anything game breaking, but that doesn't mean it isn't there. I will be pushing out a patch relatively soon to polish everything up. Thanks for playing.
0.8.4.0

- Opening the guide will now put it at the highest priority.

- Fixed an issue where the scrollbar on the menu would move to decimal values and ultimately break everything.
- Fixed some strange edge cases with the optional speedup that was making it not activate when it should have been.

- Fixed some Z fighting issues with the 3D guild hall view.
0.7.3.0
Additions:
- Added some slight variation to the hit effects during raids.

0.7.2.0
Additions:

Other Changes:
- Starting wages are now psuedo-random.
- The "Did You Know?" tip no longer counts as a tip.
- Changed the "Night" colour theme up a little bit.
Balance:
- Reduced the attack cooldown inflicted when frozen.
Bug Fixes:
- Services will now show up in the guild hall occupancy viewer again.
- When services did show up in the guild hall, it was possible to double click to open up their shop.
- The hero list was showing the expected wages for heroes, not the actual current wage.
- Fixed an issue where dragging an empty crafting slot would create a glitched item.
- Finishing the shop list tutorial will now actually finish it.
0.7.1.0
Additions:
- Added a section for wages to the hero list.

- Fixed a bug where taking an item out of the recipe part of the crafting window would create a bugged recipe.
- Heroes will no longer spam asking for raises.
Thanks. I do agree a lot of stuff isn't explained super great now or isn't intuitive. The speedup for example only happens if you're on variable time which only gets turned on automatically if you're doing the tutorial (there's no point to this limitation so I'll change it.) Refined silk is also for mid-game items so it dropping early probably isn't needed either.
I'll look into everything and try to refine it so that it makes more sense and is a lot smoother.
