Thanks for the feedback! This is my first jam, and I agree that the scope was a little ambitious. I had planned to do some polish work before submission but unfortunately was unable to. Thanks for taking the time to play and review!
Sorry to hear that. You can switch tools using the mouse wheel. You need the shovel to dig, and the axe to plant trees. I apologize for the lack of polish on that front. The movement is tile based, and so the yellow square is the "interaction box", so whatever is highlighted can be interacted with using e or the left mouse button, and you have to hold it to dig or chop.
