Hello! Thank you so much for your feedback, I greatly value and appreciate it-
In regards to the dream sequences; they trigger based on interactions/lack there of-

So, for example; Day 1: to have the nightmare occur, push Bukki's boundaries a little (ask about his father). (This sets up the trigger that tells the game to play the bad dream instead of the good one at the end of Day 1)

Achieving the good dream for Day 1 is far easier then Day 2's; simply put- ask about momma instead :) and you'll get a different dream..

(It's set up this way, because the final game will have multiple differing endings, with a true Canon Ending - meaning the player is required to play out set events because it is canon to the story and needed when wanting to achieve the True/Canon ending - the rest of the endings are Alt. Timelines essentially. Think of them as canon 'What if" scenarios, all actions depicted are true to the characters. Just not true to this timeline.)

Now for Day 2's dreams, it's a little more particular-

From here, I will speak simply to avoid saying any spoilers (there are 2 ways to go about achieving it):

Day 1: (required choices)

- Ask about dad

- Look at the basement door

- Ask to stay home

- Search the house, go to the bedroom

- Look under the bed

- Allow search timer to run out, while holding the 2 items you found (if you progress too far in dialogue the player naturally puts them back; to avoid this simply wait and allow time to run out while holding the 2 items)

- When the timer runs out, Bukki will return home (I recommend saving here so you can fully explore all dialogue options)

- Progress the day past this point to Day 2

- Stay home when asked about the store

- Search around the house, ie. just kill time (avoid the kitchen as you can be locked into an ending if you make some wrong choices involving the cabinets; or don't if you're curious enough about the ending!); the quickest way to forward time in this instance is going to the basement (a scene will trigger and skip time; I will not specify what happens; but it does not lock you into an ending; so if you'd like to skip time this way it is an option-)

- Bukki returns home, (reacts based on where he finds you) and makes the player lunch

- Bukki leaves for class; player is alone again

From here, the sequence should play out and you should reach Day 2's 2nd dream! As I mentioned, there is another way of reaching it- that is simpler; but I figured I'd tell you the first method incase it shows you more scenes you may have missed!

Other method, shorter/simplier:

- Get to Day 2; doesn't matter what choices you made previous day (quickest is talking about his mom)

- Stay home when asked about the store

- Search around the house, ie. just kill time (basement trick will work if you spoke about his mother instead of his father)

- Bukki returns home, (reacts based on where he finds you) and makes the player lunch

- Bukki leaves for class; player is alone again

From here, the sequence should play out and you should reach Day 2's 2nd dream! I didn't mention this route; as it cuts out a significant portion of dialogue/events in comparison to the first method I shared- I describe this as the gullible route because the player is almost not actively questioning Bukki- not actively poking around the details of their accident, and not questioning people Bukki doesn't want you questioning.

As for 'S', you do get to meet him in the present and not just the dream! If you follow the first method I shared + a few extra choices then you can get to meeting him again! Below are the required choices for seeing 'S' again:

Day 1: (required choices)

- Ask about dad

- Look at the basement door

- Ask to go out

- Go out with him to Jim's bar

- Speak with Jim, compliment him

- Go to the bathroom

- Select the 2nd option that appears in the bathroom (you know it's correct if you don't get the clicking mini game)

- Get Jim's #

- Do not tell Bukki anything when leaving the bathroom (you will lock yourself out of the 'S' route and Jim's)

- Progress the night; a new option should appear when prompted to sleep - Call Jim (when typing the phone number into the phone - be sure to press # first, the number and then end with * to dial; to leave the phone completely press the switch hook at the top)

- Say yes to going out

- (bringing the tracker or not will not prevent progression/soft lock you into an ending; but it does offer different outcomes for when you get home - this choice is completely up to you)

- Exhaust all dialogue options

- Go home, sleep

Day 2:

- Stay home

- search the house, basement

- Click the crack in the wall behind the tool cabinet; take what you find

- click the basement stairs to leave the basement

- Go to the kitchen; click the right side of the room to access the phone.

- Call Jim

- Talk about the letter you just found; (there is another option to speak about what you discussed last night- this is more leading towards the Jim route then 'S')

- Allow time to run out after you confirm Jim will pick you up at the house (if you allow time to run out while on the phone in mid conversation there is an additional scene as well; I recommend saving mid phone call and allowing time to run out if you're curious! If you do this, it may cancel out Jim picking you up and result in the dreaming demo end for Day 2 instead, locking you out of the 'S' route)

- Bukki goes to class, Jim comes to pick you up

***Important; you will be prompted about the tracker - this will determine what ending you get from here, bringing it or not - you will see 'S' - the choice is yours.

Phew! That was a typing session! Any who, I think I've said all I needed to (while avoiding spoilers) to guide you! If you run into any bugs please let me know and I will eradicate them!

In regards to the Gallery; (Ik you stated you went through the files- sneaky sneaky you! ;) Originally; in previous builds of the game there was a traditional Gallery that displayed scenes earned- I had ended up butchering it/repurposing into the current inventory system that is now present in the game (the little head icon on the ui) - Now, there are still remnants of it; ie. the naming of folders - older CGs still in the files; hidden character sheets- I have yet to decide if there will be an in game CG Gallery in the final release - I do plan on adding a special screen to view older art, character sheets- and just things related to the development in general.

If it's something people would ultimately want, then of course I'd add a Gallery! The state the games currently in, I wanted to ensure the base features/gameplay are good to go before the fluff (such as a CGI Gallery)

For a few days since the launch of the September update; I have been tempted to stream the game (to help with walkthroughs and promotion) but I am a bit shy and awkward myself, so I've been dragging feet on it. (Granted I did get OBS ready to go the other day) so while I am lagging on it; I am making efforts towards setting it up.

I did want to try my hand at Dev Streaming (coding, writing art) or gameplay streams when I have more free time!

Again, thank you so much for the support- comment and feedback. This comment truly made my day! (Don't hesitate to reach out again if you have an questions/concerns! I'm always available either through the game's page, my dev email (wonderlandpills030@gmail.com) or my socials linked below!)

Hello! Thank you so much for the comment, this information is greatly appreciated- I hope this helps anyone else having issues on Mac- I wish I had a Mac machine for testing, but this info should help in the meantime! I'm so glad to hear you're enjoying the game so far; here's hoping the next update doesn't cause any further issues for Mac clients- In my next dev log, I'll be sure to add this snippet of information for any Mac users having issues running the game

Omg this comment made my day- I'm so happy you're enjoying the game so far! I'm actively working to push the next update out as soon as possible- (graphical updates, writing tweaking + major extension to various ending points, bug fixes involving Bukki returning home) so I hope you continue to enjoy the current version that's out! :) Thank you for the support and lovely comment lol

Oo, I'm curious about which subreddit! I hope you enjoy what it currently has to offer, I will say- I am working on releasing another update soon! :)

Hello!

So I was researching the error: (oserror: [Errno 30] Read-only file system error), since this seems to be a Mac specific error.

"The OSError: [Errno 30] Read-only file system error in Ren'Py on a Mac system indicates that the application is attempting to write data to a location where it does not have the necessary permissions. This is a common issue, especially with newer macOS versions like Catalina and later, which enforce stricter security measures and a read-only system volume."

In short, it seems to be an issue of where Renpy is located- or a permission issue.

1. Incorrect Location of Ren'Py:

  • Problem:  If Ren'Py is run directly from the downloaded .dmg file or a location that macOS treats as read-only, it will not be able to save game data or project files.
  • Solution:  Ensure Ren'Py is copied from the .dmg file to a writable location, such as your /Applications folder or your user's Documents or Desktop folder.

(I would suggest checking the location of the .dmg file first before adjusting permissions)

2. Incorrect file permissions:

  •  Problem: The directory where Ren'Py is trying to save files (e.g., save games, logs, or temporary data) might have restricted write permissions.
  • Solution: Navigate to the directory where Ren'Py is attempting to write, right-click (or Ctrl + click) on it, select "Get Info," and verify that your user account has "Read & Write" permissions. You might need to adjust these in the Sharing & Permissions section.

(This is just some stuff I had found when researching the error, sorry that I can't assist further by running it on a mac machine myself.)

Hello! I don't necessarily have a mac machine to test on unfortunately; this is the latest I've heard of it giving mac users an issue. Could you possibly screen shot the error so I may see where it's being flagged in the code? :)

If the game is removed from itch.io, then I will post to Steam (under same name ofc). I am still consolidating a little on what I will do, but I will post an update when I decide- development will continue, ways to contact me:

(I am a fresh dev, so all this news is very worrying- but I will do my best to not allow this to inhibit me, or my art-)

I'll look into this issue further; as I will be releasing a bug fix + extended demo patch in the near future. From what I saw online a lot of people are having issues playing newer Renpy games on joiplay. So I'll do some code scrubbing to see if I can determine if it's that or something in the games code! Sorry for all the issues your having!

Hello! Since I haven't tried joiplay myself I chose to look online for some help for your issue! This is an issue experienced by other people with other titles; and it may be due to a Renpy update:

Here some instructions that I found from reddit that may cure your issue-

"So I kinda solved it. Apparently a lot of people have been having the same problem. And everyones been telling me deferent things. it had something to do with the latest Ren'Py update. All I needed to do apparently was to download the "Joiplay 1.20.005 and plugins update". It's on their Patreon. Posted on September the 15th. Don't know if I'm allowed to post links so just search for it.

Don't forget to download the new plugins AFTER you finish installing the new program. Then re-upload the game to the program. Hope that helps"

Reddit Question

I'm not gonna lie, I am unsure! I would try out the demo in joiplay to test it; (but I unfortunately don't have something to run and emulate it). But if the demo works, then the full game should as well since this game doesn't require a NASA PC to run :> I hope this answers, or helps to answer your question! Another way of playing the game on the run, that I've found, is chrome-cast! All you need is a pc (a friends, or maybe the library) and then you can cast your phone/tablet to the PC and use any of the downloaded programs you have!

I'm glad to hear your anticipation was satisfied (✪㉨✪) ! Seeing comments like this make me so happy ಥ‿ಥ! I will be updating the demo in the near future, as there is a bug involving one of the endpoints for the demo- so I will be fixing that- as well as adding a little more to the demo to try; as a thank you to everyone who has left feedback and shown interest in the game!

:3 I can't either

I'm glad you found the hidden mint bowl on the page ;>
