Alright, no problem! I'll still likely adhere to the visual novel prompt however I can (drawing and writing is easier than programming levels and puzzles since I still have to draw those assets haha), just wanted to check for the sake of programming around certain aspects.

Thank you for the answer! ^-^

Hey there! I'm interested in joining the game jam, but I'm not experienced with ren'py or other visual novel engines, and my job has busy work weeks, so learning and adapting to a new medium may be a little hard for me at the moment.

You can technically make visual novels in RPG Maker MV, my engine of choice, and there might be a plug-in that implements more typical vn features like saving during dialogue.  But if that doesn't work, how many RPG Maker elements would I be allowed to use before it no longer fits the criteria of a visual novel? All else fails, I could see myself taking a similar approach to the game Mix Ore, which uses very brief sections of non-visual novel gameplay to give the player a moment to save their game.

Hi! Thank you so much for the compliments and critiques! I deeply appreciate it! To answer about the music, Hayden Gaxiola composed the track that plays in the true ending and the rest was provided by default from RPG Maker MV.

I'll go ahead and admit for the sake of transparency I did intentionally drown out the voice line to make it spookier and mysterious, but on purpose doesn't always mean good, so maybe I'll patch that in the future. (Also music and sound effects are set to 90% volume and I usually just leave it at that) I could also explain some of my thought process with the puzzles, but I don't want to risk coming off as defensive so instead I'll just say that I had a bit of trouble during development knowing what would be difficult or not, so I'm grateful for the feedback. That'll help me a lot for future projects.

I'll definitely be checking out yours and others submissions! It just may take a bit since I'm a little flustered from the holidays. Want to have a clear mind for rating!

Alright, I sent a message request on Discord! Username is different but you'll know it's me because it has violet in the name lol.

Ha, in that case I could take a single free piece if you have time and you're down. Where can I contact you to discuss details?

As I said to the other composer in the threads lol; I'm not sure if I'll need a specific track for this jam, but could you list pricing info in case I or others here want to contact you in the future?

I'm not sure if I'll need a composer for this jam, but could you list pricing info in case I want to contact you in the future? It would probably help other people in the jam too.
