I鈥檓 starting a devlog for Fruit Box, a small browser puzzle built around one simple idea: making sums to 10 feel more like play than practice.
The original design brief was to create something calm, quick to understand, and satisfying for players of different ages. I wanted a game that could offer a short mental reset while also giving younger players a fun way to practise number combinations within 10.
The rule is simple: drag a rectangle around numbered apples. If every apple inside the rectangle adds up to exactly 10, they disappear and you score a point for each apple cleared.
A round lasts 120 seconds on a 17 x 10 board. Every board is generated with a verified solution, so a perfect 170-point clear is always possible. The interesting part is deciding which groups to remove first: do you take the obvious pairs, save useful numbers for later, or clear a larger rectangle for a bigger score?
Fruit Box is designed to be a relaxed but replayable little challenge. There is no account required, and it currently supports English, Japanese, and Korean.
