Python 3.14 is required for IMPick, which is not supported on Windows 8. Upgrading to at least Windows 10 if not Windows 11 is recommended for various reasons, and this will also allow you to use IMPick properly.

I did, but I’ve gotten busy with other projects, and I never finished it. I’ll probably throw what I did finish onto Github at some point soon.

Hello! Thank you for your hard work in tracking down all 50 imps!

I reverse engineer old obscure games as a hobby, and my friend and I have made a few discoveries (will edit as I learn more):

• You can change the resolution of the game in the config.ini file, and it just works. No having to deal with your windows getting shuffled around.
• We reversed several of the formats, making new imps and stages is fairly trivial and we will likely be releasing tooling for this soon.
• If you launch the game too quickly after opening the launcher, the game will fail to start because it couldn’t copy it to your temp folder fast enough. Wait like 5-10 seconds and you should be good.
• The language selection does work, but the way it’s set up in the config is wrong it should just say language="swedish" or whatever. If left blank (""), it will fall back to checking the keyboard layout you’re using, and default to English if it doesn’t find anything it supports. The following are supported:

english
swedish
norwegian
finnish
danish
german - missing file
french - missing file
spanish - missing file
polish - only if keyboard detected??????

It’s a complicated thing to put a GPL licensed game on Steam, and it also would be rather against the general principle of the project, as Steam is a fundamentally closed platform. But, it could still happen!
