Returning player and long-term lover of game here. Haven't played in a couple years. Started playing again today. Had a rough time because I was unable to interact with much of the game. The worst part was not being able to sleep or go get satellite hashes. The bad sun event maybe shouldn't play for the first few days of a new storymode run? (Written Sept 24th 2026, as you might be able to surmise) T^T

Sorry for missing your comment, I expected itch.io to send an email if I got a reply. I checked on the roof and the immediate area around the base (in front of the atv bay, by the big yellow bins, the area out front, etc). I did not, however, scour the map. If it was just delivering to the wrong coordinates but with the sounds in the right place, I don't have any idea where it might have been delivering. If it is out at Yankee, or in the backrooms or something, I doubt I would ever find it.

Drone not spawning, but drone audio active. 
I started a new save to try out the update. I called a drone to bring an item box to sell off some stuff to get started. I left the base but heard the drone coming, but there was no item box in the ATV bay when I returned. I checked the radio tower, but it was online. I checked the roof to see if the drop was just misaligned, nothing. I sent in another order for an item box. This time I hung around in the ATV bay until I heard the drone fly in, do the audio of it dropping something off, and then leaving. Despite this, the drone was not visible and it did not leave an item box. I checked around to make sure the item box was not just invisible, but could not find an invisible box either.
