Interesting platformer! :) Biggest issue for me was that the spikes were sometimes out of vision so I would have to drop onto them blind and hope, maybe an ability to give temporary vision or if they were spinning blades with some noise so you could hear them would make it feel less like gambling? fun little platformer keep it up!!

Very nostalgic reminded me of frogger! :) The explanation in the comments helped a lot I struggled without it! Maybe changing the jump speed depending on how far you're jumping would feel good, as long jumps took a very long time compared to short ones. Fun little game, good job! :)

Thanks for playing! :) There were some light motives but I was struggling to figure out how to get motives and make the actual crime feel good whilst keeping my scope down! Not made a murder mystery before so getting that balance was a real struggle! I definitely think if I look to make more murder mysteries an extra way to interact with clues like putting together the information in murdered: soul suspect, which I was playing last week to help with ideas would fill the game out alot!! :) Thanks for the awesome feedback!!

Very cute! Such an adorable little story :)

This was hilarious!! Could have been fun to have a slightly more random audio for spinning, like some WEEE and WHOOA :) regrettably I was too curious :( but genuinely amazing!! :)

Interesting challenge, could be cool with some upgrades to get as you progress! :) I enjoyed it

Nice simple combat, the sfx were satisfying, would like a bit more before the boss and endless kicked in, but a good foundation and responsive inputs!

Mr Duckenson clearly plays by the fairest of rules :) I had a couple of issues with collisions where it felt like I was getting stopped when I shouldn't, fun game idea and the story is cool! :)

Thanks for playing :) glad you found it fun!

Surprisingly difficult! needing to get closer to enemies so the momentum swings the block towards the enemy made this feel pretty tough! The background did make me feel pretty dizzy though when it started spinning faster as I was stood on the outer rings. But interesting to see what other ways you could use momentum like this to create tools for combat!

Good job, maybe you could add rolling multiple die too? that would be interesting

Tricky little platformer, the wall jump was a bit sharp for me

Some funny rewards! :) I was a good laugh seeing what would come up

Thanks for playing! :) Yeah I didn't get round to giving a pop-up to say when a new area was unlocked,  its just a couple of the clickables that give mystery related hints then you go back to the interrogation area to ask a couple of extra questions and go to the other area. But I did add a lot of investigations! So I can imagine its easy to get lost without some highlights :)

If you want to polish UI elements with how they look, look into theme / theme override and using styleboxes (styleboxflat is the nicest to start with :) )

Cool idea, the art style was great! the car UI was really well done and immersive!

I love how the game gives you a mechanic and completely turns it on its head and gives you a real reason for why too!! A lovely simple story to add to the game! The large turtles just being scaled versions of the smaller ones did hurt the looks a bit for me but love the game itself! I managed a solid 199 boings! :)

I found the game difficult to follow what to do as well, but loved the art style!

I like the idea of moving with gravity :) I also couldn't do level 6 I tried for a while, I feel like it might not be possible? or at least you need to restart after making a mistake. Would be interesting to see some more gravity based mechanics in this like sliding wall panels etc. Lots of potential!! :)

Cool game, nice and simple scope. Maybe making some changes to games once they've been beaten the first time like collect more blobs for snake and travel further for flappy bird so rolling a second time feels more purposeful. I enjoyed the retro feel.

I love the interpretation of the theme planets and a hamster is a beautiful concept. I would have liked the speed/combos to impact the distance a bit more. The second time I played I felt like I did a lot better but I only got twice the distance and it didn't feel rewarding. Super cool use of the theme!!

As soon as I read the rules I knew this could be a cool idea!! I think the biggest thing that was missing is some skills that let you do something different, like merge to numbers to sum them or +1/-1 to a number as getting unlucky can just end things (and the background to the skill descriptions not being opaque). So much potential behind this idea!!!

A cool game, I saw you commented it's your first game, awesome job finishing it and getting it up on the jam! :) The death animation looked awesome!! I think the biggest impact small thing you could do would be add a pop-up or animation for escaping as it's a bit anti climactic. maybe a cling button with some stamina so you can hold onto a wall as it turns for a second to jump off? that could add some depth to the gameplay too. Great short little escape puzzle!

This was a very serious game! I agree with the difficulty parts though some of the jumps were very precise and with the delay between click and launch (which by itself was fine) things got a bit rough. Other than making the jumps more forgiving maybe being able to swap spin orientation could help? and having different colour orbs for different speeds so you know what you're getting yourself into. But the egg family is back together, a fun idea :)

I wasn't very good so most of the enemy ships got rammed into because I was too slow! :) Really enjoyed the music and the tutorial really helped get into it!

Interesting take on the theme :) I couldn't tell who was who around the table would have liked that to be a bit more clear, but I enjoyed myself so much I got indigestion!!! :')

I really enjoyed this!! The biggest thing I felt it was missing is I wanted the combo counter to go even crazier as combos got bigger I got to about 36 but didn't go into endless, and reward consecutive bounces as bouncing 10 times without touching the floor was rewarded the same as just standing and jumping once 10 times. But despite that it was thoroughly enjoyable!

Thanks for playing :) Yeah that's something I didn't really think about, I put all the clues in the actual background art so I completely missed adding hover effect over the collision, I just made the collisions bigger than the areas best I could :) I'll definitely remember to add a bit of a glow etc. when you hover over the clickables next time!! :)

Was a fun little game with an entertaining story, interest be getting ridiculous these days.

Interesting idea and I like that there's a bit of a variety of minigames, an appropriately serious topic for such a serious game jam!

(1 edit)

A cute idea, obviously could have more as you said it was a last minute idea. Good job getting this out there anyway! :) sry for multiple pings I lagged

There's some a bit of depth to when to spin and when not to spin, I had a couple of issues with the UI and it isn't made clear that you can't click no at the beginning. But honestly a fun idea with a bit of depth sadly the poor ball was left behind for me :(

Thanks for the feedback :)

Np :) i looked at the bug list and didnt notice it so thought id let you know :) yeah i agree emotional and atmoshperic games benefit from guidance embedded in the gameplay! A couple of cool ways would be sound something like a whispered echo of the conversation you're remembering could suit the feel, a wisp guiding you around the path, maybe you only reveal future nodes once you reach the previous one? Just a few of the ideas off the top of my head, for grandpa :)

Thanks for playing the game! :) Yeah after the initial purchase you can't get any more of that animal, that was intentional as once a species dies in nature they become extinct and we were looking at trying to give the player that control over natures connections and as that's something that can happen in nature, thought it could be part of the challenge. I also thought it would be difficult for buying more to help, as usually when an animal dies that means there's a lot of predators eating them at the time, so buying more could often end up the same way :) If you think that or something else would improve the way I made the shop, please let me know :)

What an incredible short story!! I may have accepted 2 puzzles at the same time and it made me unable to complete the second properly for some reason :( It was difficult to know exactly what connection to make, it seemed like just trial and error, maybe have some indicator to hint towards the next connection? Saying that making a boat out of the connections from the stories was such an ingenious idea!!

Thanks for playing the game :) Yeah Nycto had to work hard to get the navigation right and balancing everything was not easy :(

Nice simple idea! I was terrible at it, could maybe have had some more variety in the character's attacks, but a fun concept :)

Thanks for giving the game a go! :) We both really liked the idea of using the connections in nature!! Yeah the critters do cause some lag issues :( I made the balancing as low as I could to try minimize its impact best I could but at 100ish animals I was getting lag myself but the fix was too big for Nycto to implement in time :/

Such an interesting way to play with sockets! :) I managed to get one of the sockets in the wrong order and as a result got stuck :( was a fun challenge!
