Okay, I liked so far the game. The gameplay is very fun (especially for turn-based battles in RPGmaker game); the story is interesing, the puzzles are not too hard or simple; the characters are engaging enough (especially with Vasilis, assholes loners are the trope that most writers fuck up nowdays…); and I thank you that you didn’t put a random encuenter system in the game, that definitely would soured my opinion of this game.
The only thing that I’m not convinced is with the True Ending. Don’t get me wrong, before the battle with Dr. Tetra is going alright, the conversation with Mary is really moving, the betrayal of the doctor is a surprising but at the same time logical, and the battle itself is really changeling (have into account I didn’t expected a boss battle right there, so basically almost emptied my inventory and barely winned with Vasaris dead and Mary with less than half lifebar, even with the best equipement equipped). My problem starts post-boss battle.
First the pacing of the ending feels a little too rush for its own good, second is the things for the duo solves a little too easily for them, third is there are some questions that never are answered (I know that the author is has intentions to do a saga and all, but in retrospective, at least 2 questions should been answered in this game and don’t left for the secuels/ambiguous for interpretation), and finally, I believe that you writed Dr. Rune a little too shady to be an ally. I mean, since first encounter him in the other world i’m convinced that there is no way that he isn’t also involved in the malpractice too, and every action he did only conviced me more. Hell, even in the finale it looks like he was getting rid of his scapegoat and it will start a second boss battle. All this combined, the ending feel more like a Good ending and not a TRUE ending.
But in the end, is a really pleasant travel and I will stay tuned for future games. Also, sorry for the bad syntesis in my review, English is not my first idiom.
