FAQ

Here is a list of the most common issues. Please reply below if you don’t find your answer here.

Also you can ask question in the our Discord server.

When playing on iPad, the game exits full-screen mode

This is usually caused by the standard iOS swipe-down gesture, which exits full-screen mode in browsers like Safari and Chrome.

  • To avoid this: Use two fingers when scrolling or navigating the map.
  • If it happens: Tap the full-screen icon in the bottom-right corner to return to full-screen mode.
  • If the icon isn’t visible: Try zooming out in your browser (in Safari, open the aA menu to the left of the address bar to adjust page zoom).
  • Still having trouble? Reply to this thread with your iPad model and browser version, and we’ll help you troubleshoot!

Common questions after the tutorial

1. I finished the tutorial. What should I do first in Campaign?

  • Open Campaign, start the first available level, and hover the stars in the top bar to review its city and capital targets.
  • A reliable opening is to connect a nearby village for more population, then route through Wood and Ore while extending one continuous network toward the required cities.
  • Extra population provides more workers, and Wood and Ore supply can reduce later rail costs.

2. Why can’t I build a railroad on the edge I selected?

  • Press B to enter rail-building mode and use the blue highlighted edges.
  • Your first segment must touch one of your company’s settlements; later segments must continue from a rail network connected to one of those settlements.
  • Each segment also needs one worker action and enough money for the current Wood and Ore prices.
  • If automatic hiring is not possible, press 2 to open Workers and check whether an affordable worker is available.

3. Why can’t I end my turn?

  • The game blocks Next Turn while you have an unused hired rail action.
  • Spend the action by building a segment, or open Workers and cancel the unused hire for a full refund.
  • If a land auction is open, you must also place a bid or choose Skip before the turn can end.
  • The message shown when Next Turn is disabled identifies the remaining action.

4. Why isn’t a connected resource producing anything?

  • A normal resource hex must have the railway pass directly through it.
  • Merely building on an edge of a neighboring hex does not connect the resource; only resources next to a city or village receive that adjacency benefit.
  • Production is resolved when the turn ends and workers are assigned automatically.
  • A worker hired for rail will not produce that turn, and a full finite-resource market may cause workers to be assigned elsewhere or remain idle.

5. Why didn’t my city connection or objective star count?

  • All required cities must belong to one physically continuous rail component.
  • Rail segments connect only when their endpoints meet at the same hex corner; simply occupying different edges of the same ordinary hex is not enough.
  • Cities and villages act as stations and join every rail edge touching them.
  • Objective stars require both the connected-city target and the corresponding capital target, and they are awarded when the turn resolves.
  • Hover the stars to see your current progress toward both requirements.
