How does the game fit the theme?
Sanity Check requires you to question the words of everyone you interact with.. and of yourself as well. As you navigate the Institute of Sound Reasoning, you'll find yourself diving deeper and deeper into your own twisted web of logic. Is this door lying, or is that door lying? Is your line of reasoning solid, or weak? These are the questions you must answer.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

I don't think it's you, i'm just super bad in puzzle ahah But the art, audio, ect, it's well polished ! well done !

Feel free to test our game :)

The audio and artwork had a earie vibe, which was great!!. 2 Things on UX. Kept accidentally opening the door too many times. A confirmation or opening only on double click would help a lot. Navigating to the corner room was difficult as I had to move one by one to either direction.

Really enjoyed the game and the logical puzzle solving! I'm not very good at these sorts of games, so I found Novice already pretty difficult. It's really hard to design these sorts of puzzles, and I think you guys knocked it out of the park!

I think you need to add an epilepsy warning to your page IMMEDIATELY though. That rainbow fade in visual effect at the beginning of the game is cool, but I think it warrants a warning.

Fun puzzle. Managed to get through first try (With 2 mistakes). Also that spawn animation is really cool when the game starts.

We have the same idea! Good visuals and gameplay

Very gorgeous art and feel to the game. In the web version, it doesn't progress for me, or it doesn't tell me what to do... still a great game concept

Developer

thanks for the feedback! can i ask more about what you mean about it not progressing?

Hey, once I clicked on the doors and logged info about the doors, I was just not doing anything else. I tried to click on the vase and on other visibly clickable things, but just nothing. I was stuck on the first level. Granted, I could be impatient, so seeing no way to progress or a button hidden, I could have quit immediately; still, the game didn't tell me what to do next

Developer(+1)

ohh thank you for expanding!! if we ever do a ux pass we'll try to make progress more obvious--it takes clicking the door a second time to walk through it!

The art and atmosphere of the game is great! many small mechanics that add up and very polished feel to the game.

One small thing: when playing (not in the main menu when starting a game) the audio goes down to 0, which is a shame because I almost missed the beautiful background music and sound effects!

Very nice entry :D

Developer

thank you!! hopefully we can grab that in our bugfix :D

Great visuals and logic.

Possibly a skill issue on my end or because I used the web build, I found the controls difficult. Is it possible to use the notes?

I also was not sure how to "enter" a door consistently? Double clicking?

Developer

🫡🫡 thank you for your feedback!! will look into it if we every do a ux pass on the game :]]

I completed the first 2 difficulties and honestly I really liked the camera work.  One thing I would fix is that when there are more than 2 doors and you step back from a door you cant see the doors on other corner and you have to click doors one by one to get to the remaining doors.

The clues are good but a few times I  had similar clues and got them wrong and didn't really understand why.

Overall the game is well made. Good job!

yayy i'm glad you liked it! + ah yeah, if you drag the screen you can move the camera around to all the doors but we didn't get to a point where we could focus on making that super obvious. if we ever do a ux pass on the game i'll probably add indication arrows on either side or something :]
