How does the game fit the theme?
You must talk to the locals in this town to see who is giving you clues and who is lying to you. Don't trust ANYONE blindly.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
I reused/repurposed some previous game jam code for menu, player, and other basics. I also used a couple sounds from freesound.org such as the rain, footsteps, and car. And yes, I did draw the art in MS Paint

The art style is very good, also the character design look nice for me. Great Work!
the ms paint noir look with the rain and the car headlights is way more atmospheric than it has any right to be, and having friendly fred's "i hope you decide to stay forever" sit in the journal with a truth or lie button next to it is a neat way to make the theme a mechanic. nice work
Good atmosphere, definitely felt like I was in a noir. The gameplay/direction seemed a bit lackluster as all it took was some wandering around to complete the game
Great style, I like the way the characters talk.
Good message with the game, smooth graphics, and a nice atmosphere, but the gameplay is a little confusing.
fire game. loved the ambience
The Game is confused on a gameplay standpoint, but the atmosphere is beatiful!
Thanks for the compliment on the atmosphere! I put a lot of effort into it. Perhaps too much though, because I didn’t put enough attention on the actual gameplay. I had a concept but I didn’t spend enough time trying to flesh it out. I was hoping to use the journal like the Chants of Sennaar game
Really good art style!
Thanks! It’s MS Paint. lol
The gameplay is good , sticked to the theme
Thanks! My last jam I wasn’t as god about sticking to the theme so I focused on it more this time around. Unfortunately, I didn’t devote as much time as I wanted to building the intrigue as I wanted to, so I think the end user experience suffered a bit from that
