I like the theme and ascetics. Story is interesting and well integrated. but it's kinda hard to play with mouse or I just have a skill issue :P

Developer

Hey! Thanks for playing. After all the feedback I landed on the idea that the current level limitations should be more like a challenge mode and hit boxes should more generous to make the game more fun. At least less frustrating for the general audience. At the end of the day, this kind of gameplay is not a souls like game you know!

Thanks again for taking the time

I love the story woven into the gameplay sections, definitely gave me a drive to see it through to the end.
I found the sections with the expanding purple bubbles to be the hardest just from trying to chase down the ball. However, I tried it on mobile and found that section quite enjoyable!

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing all of it! I'm happy you liked it and that the story was intriguing enough for you to continue.

I played on mobile and had a fun time! It was a bit punishing on the first level that introduces keys; I really struggled getting past the spawn. But the art, sfx, main mechanic, and storytelling were all great!

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing it!

Yeah, I think that spawn box was a little bit too small to get out. Since I played all the levels like at least 50 times each, I got used to it, but after seeing some people play it live, and struggle, I clearly require better level design skills.

Submitted(+1)

I really like the concept of the game :D except I would suggest you make the first couple levels easier so people can get more of a hang of the mechanics before it gets super hard. I might have a skill issue though lol 😂

Developer (1 edit)

Definitely a skill issue... of my level design skills lol!

Thanks for playing it. And you are absolutely right. I will adapt the mechanics and create and entirely new title with it, and I will improve those levels. Like the first 5 -10 levels will introduce mechanics and will be easy enough for players to understand how everything works.

Thanks for the feedback.

I can see this game going far in the levels and the storytelling. You could create a whole story around it. I couldn't get past a lot of levels (I played on mobile so the projectile was quite small). I found the tutorial hard, maybe just the big red piece in the middle is enough of an obstacle?

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! Indeed in mobile the elements appear quite small. I'm tweaking some things so that it is way better for mobile soon.

Hey, really loved this, I think it's got real potential - I played for quite a while just because it was fun!

Developer(+1)

thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it!

A fun mechanic for a mobile game! I think the difficulty curve and control sensitivity could do with some balancing but the mechanics are sound. Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for playing it! I'll try to adjust it for mobile and aim for a mobile release hopefully this year!

Submitted(+1)

Quite a tough game! i think it was mostly just due to the dragging not immediately stopping your velocity, but besides that the rest of the game was really fun! lovely visuals and good polish too, narrative was decent and all. Overall really neat entry!

Developer

Thanks for playing it and for your feedback!

Yeah that not stopping immediately was a design decision. I wanted for the slow motion to NOT feel like a free shot, because if it was, it would feel like a mini golf game. I wanted it to feel like a real time challenge. But I do think there is a sweet spot somewhere in between, I'll continue adjusting it and try to make a mobile release of a fuller gamer.

This was a lot of fun to play and seems to work really well on android if a bit more tricky.  Fantastic entry as a solo developer! Well done!

Developer

Thanks a lot! I hope you enjoyed it

Wow this is such a big game for a solo dev in just 4 days, and everything is great and satisfying! Though i have to leave a criticism.

The gameplay is a bit rough, sometimes the slowdown isnt slow enough and the hitbox feels way too large (but this issue mostly only for one level with the tight spaces and the first key) but still that level was hell to beat, and every other level was 1000% easier than that one.

Anyway this is probably the best game i found in this jam so far! You did an awesome job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for your kind words! I am really happy that you think it is the best so far :D

I will definitely revisit timers, hit boxes, and overall the difficulty curve for the game. I want to make this a nice mobile game, hopefully I can comeback and share that with you once it is ready!

Submitted(+1)

You actually messed up with when the time slows down and when it resets. Other than that the game is neat. Just a little bug. 8/10

Developer

What exactly was messed up? So I can fix it post jam.

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

basically when you pull on the screen, it slows time, right? but then when you release it, it turns the scale back to normal. but i noticed that if you rapidly pull release and pull again like i did on mobile, it actually doesn't register the time slow for the pull again. now i don't really know why is this happening but if i had to take a guess, the time slow is activating before the slowdown ending triggers of the last pull. or maybe it's just my mobile being stupid. please check :D

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks for the additional information. I will definitely check it out. There might be something going on in there definitely. I did not validated enough on mobile, and maybe even multiple finger taps may present an issue. Thanks again for taking the time to explain it better!

Simple but not easy! Decently fun and I like the idea of adding the challenge for 3 stars (but I felt I did well on one early level and still only got 1 star :(

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I made stars way to tight to get. In retrospective, I will make the stars easier, and then create another category of a "Gold Star" for when that score is below my best effort possible when playing the level.

Submitted(+1)

We indeed share a little mechanic haha ! Really original and awesome concept, but quite hard I have to admit 😄

The level visuals are clean and to the point, and the character silhouettes are simple but effective ! I salute the effort of adding a story too, congrats !

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! Yeah, it was an extra effort, that I believe was worth it. However, in hindsight, I think next time I will aim for more levels and mechanics. And improving the tutorial.

Submitted(+1)

Nice work. I do think the story was more engaging than the gameplay, and the writing was great.

Developer

Thanks a lot for that! I think you are the first one lol. Other comments say to add ways to skip it. I really tried on the writing side. I'm happy you liked it!

Submitted(+1)

Very cool game mechanic that takes some skill to use, I really enjoyed playing through this to the end! The story was also very interesting and I liked the writing. I also appreciate how you added the better scoring for beating the round in a more efficient way. Awesome job with this one man :D

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing it! I am really happy you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+1)

Nice work! The gameplay was intuitive, yet challenging, and the minimalist art was very appropriate for the theme. My main quibble was that the narrative feels rather disjointed from the gameplay, but all around this was a lovely experience. I enjoyed the game enough to finish it, which is a high complement for a game this difficult!

Developer

Yeah! You are right, thanks for the feedback. When I take this idea past the game jam, I will definitely look for a better narrative. Something that comes back to the actual gameplay. This is pretty much a story with and idea of how to visualize the "hacking" in a fun way.

Submitted(+1)

very interesting game concept! It feels very polished and I think you could master it if you play it long enough. The difficulty level between the firewall levels and the virus one did increase a lot and I ended up beating it by just letting the ball bounce around (it was a bit frustrating otherwise, because it stopped taking my input once you accidentally clicked outside the game window). The game could’ve profited from a bit of difficulty balancing, but otherwise very nice in combination with the storyline!

Developer

Thanks for playing the game :)

I get what you mean. I'll expand past this idea and take balancing/difficulty curve more seriously. Still learning a lot about level design :)

Submitted(+1)

This has a really sticky core gameplay loop. I really enjoyed this one! Great work.

Developer

Thanks! I am glad that you also found it sticky, for me is a fast paced trial and error that keeps you saying, one more time! I got it!

Submitted(+1)

Woooow I LITERALY LOVE the way how we control the ball!!! It made me sweat - for real - when it passed right beside a red wall with just 1px gap. Limiting how long can a player slow down time was very addictive and added depth to the puzzles. I was also surprised at the quality of the narrative and how you proposed it to the players in a well polished manner. Nothing more to say, it was fun :)

Developer

Thank you so much for the comment! I was recently laid off, so I got some inspiration from that to write the narrative. My case is nothing similar to the story, it was truly just an unfortunate big tech/corporate layoff that affected my whole department, but still motivated me to take july off, and the game jam was a perfect thing to focus all my energy on.

very good and well done

Developer

Thanks
