I loved the game! The only thing that I have to say is that the scrolling to switch items was quite frustrating. I would recommend switching it to be number keys because my sensitivity was very high, which made it annoying to select the item I wanted to place. Apart from that and the lag, though, I thought it was great! Really good for a two day gamejam!

Developer

yeah, make sense.. i  will put that in. i am a darksoul player and i just implemented my habits from darksoul to this game too lol.

This game has a ton of content for a 2-day game jam, this is so cool! I do agree with other feedback about controlling direction a bit more, but overall, a super cool game. I loved the map/prediction line stuff especially.

Developer(+1)

yo, glad you liked it, and your game is hella fun too, so addicting lol

Excellent game! I would recommend some easier way of controlling the direction, but otherwise it was very good indeed!

Developer

glad you liked it, there is many feedbacks suggesting that, i will see what i can do. do you think i should keep the thrusters and make another system or just make turning easier

Submitted(+1)

At the risk of reducing game complexity, reduce the number of thrusters, and allow them to be picked up and repositioned? or if you want to keep the current system of a ton of single-placement thrusters, allow turning off and on?

Developer

actually, i really like the first idea, that can improve the performance issues late game, and make the map clearer without hurting the idea of moving around with thrusters, and late game i often have like 100+ thrusters and they are useless, bad progression design honestly

Loved the animations and overall idea but my game did freeze by around wave 30 as there was wayyy too many enemies which i found really funny. Cool game man!

Developer

glad you liked it, it is indeed facing serious performance issues, thankyou for pointing it out, i am currently working on it

finished it in 13 min very fun short game, with some performance issues at the end :)

Developer

glad you lieked it, i will see what i can do with the performance issue late game, there is too many instances called late game

I got to wave 44.

The concept is very, very nice and the core gameplay is good, but imo there are some issues on balancing and performance: I had the most fun during the first few waves, because the islands were still manageble, after sometime tho, having 4 islands collide at once on different part of an already big island felt a bit unfair. Also the game started to lag significantly (even reaching 10-5 fps) in the later stages.

As I said, the concept is very good tho and utilises the theme well, good job and good luck :)

great feedback honestly, and im glad that you liked it. ur right, i need to do more play test after the jam and hope to create a balanced experience

Love the concept, and gameplay.

But I find the progression kind of weird, especially the thrusters. Besides that, cool games!

Developer

yeah, the thrusters are the og concept of the game, i did those in the begining and found out the math problems too late to fix em. and i got to time left :C anywasy, glad u liked it

This was a fun game with an interesting concept and theme. At first I was very confused, but once I figured everything out, it was a very cool game.

Eventhough it was fun, once you collided with a few islands and took them over, I didn't really know what to do, and didn't have much reason to continue. The thrusters were helpful at first, but then they were annoying when I collected a bunch.

This game would benefit from a but of guidence and a bit more content (content not as much seeing as this is a game jam game)

Developer

hey, glad you liked it, and yes, thrusters are just getting useless overtime for the island just getting way too big. i tried to fix it but i dont have enough time to do so, and yeah, in my brain there is like so many  rare items but i only ended placing 3 of em, i will spend my time polishing and refine this game.

This is such a fun game. Using islands as pirate ships is such a creative and cool idea. Everything about this game is great except for thrusters. Once the island starts moving it is very difficult to change direction. Ive missed many sea shanty battles because of it :( But everything else and the concept of this game is amazing :)

Developer

the original idea was having thrusters only and just collide with as much islands as possible, and i put all my codes into one file, after i added all the elements i got no time to fix the thrusters now lol. and hey, glad you liked the game :D.
