Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarize your game!
Shoot your way across the level with your trusty cannon so that you can finally get the sleep that you deserve!

Controls: Left Click to Shoot, Shift to Stop Moving, and Space to Jump.

Please explain how your game fits the theme.
This game fits into the theme of "The Cost of Progress" by forcing the player to move by spending there ammo. The cost of progress for this game would be the ammo as there is no way to get where you need to be than by shooting your gun and using your ammo.

Did you use Generative AI to make any assets in your game?
No

I really liked the graphics and SFX on this, unfortunately the music was so loud I had to block sound on my browser tab, which did lessen the experience.

I liked the simplicity of the game mechanics, but it just became a bit too frustrating for me. I think having some kind of ghost of the previous run would really help some players (like me).

A very interesting game, and overall seems well executed, just not my cup of tea

I had a lot of fun playing the game. The death noise was just perfect with the audio. “dooomm tsshh meow doom tshhh”.

It was a bit of a struggle (skill issue) to get the stop at the right place. some of the levels I ended up propelling myself in the air to the end goal instead of actually going through the level designed.

But I really enjoyed the game. Thanks for this cool submission!

Some nitpicks after a couple of playthroughs:

The graphics are nice, especially the sprite work, but the harsh black and white palette really hurts the visbility of the game. I couldn’t even see the catapult charges at the top of the screen and thought I found a glitch when I wasn’t able to catapult anymore after running out.

The mouse cursor not being locked to the game and not being able to full screen resulted in a lot of misclicks outsied of the game window. In one level I lost all my progress because I accidentally clicked the button that took me to the jam submission page while trying to pull off a sick jump

The levels were well designed and the game was genuinely challenging. It was a bit frustrating at first trying to deal with the mouse situation, but I got the hang of it after a while and managed to get to the end.

I think that you should expand the tutorial sections to teach the player that they can jump multiple times in the air. since the gameplay is so fast, it’s easy to take the game one jump at a time and not realize that you can catapult yourself as much as you want in the air. This happened to me and I got stuck on some levels that would have been trivial if I knew that. Some tutorial text that explains this would have been perfect at the start of level 3.

Overall the game was fun and well made. A few tweaks and it could be great. Congrats on your first completed game AND submitting in time for a jam!

Thanks for leaving a response! I was wanting to get a Fullscreen made for it but I was running out of time to work on it because of my job, so its definitely on the list of things I want to add and update to the game even after the jam is done. Thanks for bringing up the ammo sprite issue, its something that will need a remodel for sure. I'll make sure to flesh out the tutorial more as well, its something I didn't notice that using the canon in the air was something that wasn't explained, thanks for pointing it out. Thanks again for the feedback and encouragement!
