Design Statement
The theme track felt like a small push opening into a wider journey: a rise, a pause, then an answer from somewhere beyond sight. I translated that feeling into wind rather than rhythm. The player never drags the leaf directly. A short gesture creates a local gust; momentum, gravity and the valley continue the movement after release. This makes a small action feel like an invitation rather than a command.

Across four chapters and 24 levels, the same gesture first lifts a leaf, then rings a bell with a seed, redirects currents, curls a leaf gate and moves a swinging platform. Visible responses connect these actions to the world. A glowing ring keeps the destination readable, one star allows progress, and free retries leave room to experiment. The journey ends by letting the leaf continue beyond the player's reach. The game uses original AI-assisted audio rather than the provided recording.

Game Instructions (launch steps, controls, and gameplay overview)
Open https://pixmistudio.itch.io/the-wind-will-take-you-there and click Run game, then Start. Play directly in a desktop browser on Windows or Mac with a mouse. On phones, use one finger in landscape. Swipe through the air near the copper-orange leaf to create a local gust, then release before making another. Guide the leaf into the glowing ring. Momentum and currents continue after release. One star unlocks the next level; retries are free. R: retry; Space: pause/resume during gameplay; H: help; Enter: continue after arrival. English is the default; Chinese is available from the home screen. Progress and preferences are local to the browser. There are 24 levels in four chapters. Full walkthrough video: the same public page has a Download section with full-playthrough-24-levels-web.mp4 (3:58, English, all 24 levels, game audio; automated gameplay recording at normal speed).

Did your project use any AI tools or assets? If yes, please specify.
Yes. This game contains AI-generated and AI-assisted content. OpenAI image generation was used for bitmap landscapes, terrain, props, the icon and promotional illustrations. Selected Windcut glyphs were reconstructed from AI references; remaining glyphs derive from LXGW WenKai (SIL OFL 1.1), with credits and license retained. Gemini Create music generated instrumental BGM; Volcano Engine Doubao Voice generated wind, bell, bloom/lift, arrival and UI effects, then edited and mixed. Codex and other AI assistants helped with implementation, tests, copy and translation. Pixmi made the final design, integration and release decisions. Full details and open-source credits are publicly included in the game description. The organizer's recording is not included or sampled.

That was beautiful. I think it adapted the theme of the soundtrack perfectly.

Really charming little game! I love the simple mechanics and the relaxing, straightforward gameplay loop. It captures a really nice mood.

One small quality-of-life suggestion: it would be great if we didn't have to fully restart when things don't go quite right, and could instead just keep using gusts freely. But overall, a lovely experience. Great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the thoughtful feedback! I’m glad you enjoyed the atmosphere, and your suggestion makes sense.

Gusts were unlimited at first, but I added a per-level limit because the game felt a little too easy during my own playtests. I’m considering a free-play mode with unlimited gusts, so players can explore freely, experiment, and simply enjoy playing with the world as the wind.

Interesting game concept, but the mechanics felt a little awkward to use. The music didn't quite fit right, maybe because of the weird harmonic choices and synthetic sound of the strings (expression control would have helped)

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the detailed feedback! I’ll keep your notes on the harmonies and string sound in mind. One small tip that may help with the controls: drawing the wind just ahead of the leaf can make it easier to get it moving.

Cool puzzle game! I wish there was a faster way to restart levels.

Developer

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! You can retry the current level from the pause menu—just click the pause button in the bottom-left corner.
