Great take on a classic. Loved the look but especially that tune which is a full on banger like some old school Megaman tracks. Pretty tough challenge, but only cause I'm bad at snake. Well done! :D

How does your game fit the theme?
It's the classic Snake, so the player grows when eating food. You get shorter while "boosting" to go faster as well.

Now, how could I not play a game with such a concise title? Pretty good snake game, very juicy, maybe a tad too juicy for my taste. Graphics were nice and a little bit unsettling, but it is a post-apocalyptic world after all. Not sure how much the hunger mechanic added, but defending my eggs was definitely a nice touch. With sprinting and shrinking, I wasn't even sure which one was supposed to be the downside. Some extended input buffering might be nice (so that pressing up and left in quick succession actually makes you go up one tile and then to the left), other than that, controls were fine enough. All in all, a fun little entry, well done!
Alternative title: Snake, but make it juicy!
Loved the wobble animation and the juicyness of everything in this game, also I like the idea to have sort of a tower defense mechanic built into snake. I wish you did something more with the sprint mechanic, because I didn't feel the need to do it so much (expecially because I'm bad at snake and if I sprint I also bump my head very easily).
An idea could be to have the snake mother be invulnerable when sprinting, because she only cares about saving her offspring and not about injuring herself (?). Idk maybe some experiments with playtesters might be needed.
That said this is a pretty solid game, good work!
Great game! Has a good sense of humor and makes the snake gameplay more interesting by introducing more things to avoid. Fantastic work!
An interesting twist on snake well done. I did fel like the speed of the rats was a bit jarring, they didn't seem to be moving in time with everything else which threw me off a bit but I really enjoyed the concept. Also I appreciate the sound settings as the volume was incredibly loud by default
Protecting the eggs with the mechanics of the classic Tron work perfect on this frenetick version of Snake. Good music, sfx, art... Everything works together!
But it was dificult to turn just on the edges of the stage, I find myself always pressing the buttons too early :^(
this was so fun! difficult as heck, but fun. the art was lovely and the title screen was absolutely killer. great work!
very polished game that feels great to play.
Having to defend the eggs is a really nice twist, and using the speed up to get smaller is also a really cool idea considering how valuable being big is. It adds a nice bit of tradeoff that I think works pretty well.
Perhaps the only thing is that the speed up isn't super necessary because of how slowly mice move, they are pretty easy to counter without it. Still a really cool mechanic and with faster on more frequent mice I could totally see it becoming more essential.
Awesome work.
Amazing art, simple but difficult gameplay. over all amazing!
Would really appreciate if you would check out our game!
It got me the first second for its sound. really like the style of story. great job!
I really liked this take on the classic snake! Nice art and its quite fun, good job!
Very wonderful entry! Game feels nice and punchy. I also love how bright the game turns out to be with the radioactive green snake. The game also has a certain polish that I don’t expect from jam games, like the clean death sequence or the cool hunger mechanic. Certainly see myself playing this again!
I like the added wrinkle to Snake of having little eggs to defend. Being able to shrink yourself is an interesting addition, since the difficulty in Snake usually comes from being too big. I think the idea is that being small makes it harder to protect your kids, but it's pretty easy currently to eat the rats when you can zoom over to them. The kids are the real obstacle!
A+ on the presentation. I love being an exploding snake mom.
Snake is already an addicting game as it is! But add in enemies and your eggs to protect? You have something here.
The theme made me feel extra motivated to play, since this snake is more than just a glutton. Gotta live to defend the little ones!
At first, I was feeling like the gameplay was a little slow, but I like the addition of the boost! It speeds up the gameplay and also further leans into the theme by putting the size of the snake in the player's control and linking size to speed. I'd like to see how this game could improve if it deviated even more from the traditional Snake gameplay format.
