It's truly a shame that you couldn't finish your game on time, I completely understand your frustration with that. Sometimes our projects can spiral out of control, especially when we have external issues to deal with.
A developer-to-developer tip is to never let pessimism take over, even in tough situations like this one. You mentioned that we didn’t need to test, but your time shouldn’t have been wasted like that. On the contrary, at least something should have been worth it, and it was. You created an interesting atmosphere, and your camera setup definitely worked well in terms of depth and movement. I'm sure this was a valuable learning experience for future projects.
You could have added some context on the page, like what you intended with your game, perhaps the story or even the main mechanics, how they would work, and what you had in mind. We could have analyzed your game based on that information too.
I hope this experience hasn’t discouraged you. You’ve definitely shown that you're capable of doing great things—you just need to focus on something smaller next time, something manageable within the time you have available (and of course, always prepare for the unexpected).
I wish you success on your journey as a developer. What you did is functional and, without a doubt, a great foundation for a complete game.
Like you game and gave you all 3 stars. I need help some one removed my submission.
Submitting something that runs is already an achievement in a jam!
I’m sure and hope this process gave you valuable insights during development that you can sue and build upon in your future games.
Of course, there wasn’t much to do yet, but the 3D environment looked solid, and the controls worked well.
It’s a good foundation to build on, and with some future updates, this could turn into something more substantial.
Keep going and keep learning—you’re on the right track!🎮💪
You submitted it and that is the important part. The room loops well. You did a good job with the screen shader. Many times, people go overboard with screen shaders to the point it is distracting.
The room looping mechanic was really well done, making it a great fit for the theme. I can tell you didn’t get to fully finish the game, but even so, some guidance on what to do would be really helpful. If you can’t fit it into the game itself, at least adding instructions on the itch.io page would improve the experience. The game has a lot of potential, and I hope you keep working on it. Would love to see where it goes.
I can really see the big potential and different ways you can proceed with this idea ! It has great movement smooth animation at least with the door and camera effects changing too overtime. If you ever finish this, it'll be an exciting game!
I have to echo the sentiment before me. The room looping seems very flawless so there definitely was a good start. I hope you learned from your experience and/or have better luck next time. and are able to do more with your ideas. if you learn from it joining the jam was still usefull
A great start, I can see the promise! The sound and mechanic of the looping room really captures that theme of being stuck in a loop.
Ok you didn't finish the game, but it would have been a really good idea, i really like the smoothness of the game, the doors and the material of the floor.
You need to finish it pls :((((
Hey! Thanks a lot! Yeah, I do really like the idea, so I am definitely going to finish it in a near future. I will punch you then!
I know you didn’t finish, but the room looping was a cool implementation. How did you do it?
I love broken games.
Well I know you said not to, but I tried it anyway.
You got a 3d game, nice camera controls, and managed to create a room loop. Thats way more than I could do months ago!
You can be proud of what you achieved, don't let yourself down. This is a solid base for a future project.
Thanks a lot! Just didn't manage time we'll because of the work(((
