Message from the artist
I only had 7 hours to create this jam, so I imagined it as a short soundtrack to a short game jam game. The Lighthouse would be a top down puzzle rpg about climbing up the stories of a lighthouse while gradually loosing grip on reality.
1. Title Theme
2. This piece would play in calm sections is the player solves puzzles to advance through each floor of the lighthouse.
3. Plays as you go insane. I imagined hallucinogenic neon colors and little imagined nightmare vibes hence the rock feeling.
Thanks for taking the time to listen.

Oh! Oh! I remember you from ost 7!
What about the track? It's VERY atmospheric. While listening to it, I had the feeling that I was being watched by mermaids, birds were swimming around, big crabs were walking somewhere... And I was finally free!
...and I decided to play the piano at the end of my sea imprisonment, heh :)
P.S. Rawr!
I think the instrumentation and storytelling work really well here, there's a good progression in energy between each song that hits the vibes you're going for. The minor piano and sustained instruments give it a floaty feel, which works for the wavy, peaceful but scary and mysterious oceanic setting. The foley sounds like the waves were really great for adding atmosphere, but I think something to experiment with would be to keep the wave and foley sounds a bit more consistent as it sounded a bit sporadic. Overall great stuff!
Really enjoyable all throughout, you nailed the transition from normal to madness! In 7 hours it's insane work!
I like the structure of this, sounds nice good work :)
Really nice work!! Love the addition of the seagull sounds at the end of part one! I think in the second part, it might help to rebalance the drums, bring them down a little, so that the other parts can really shine through! Great work!
the foley in the second portion of your submission was a lovely touch and a pleasant surprise! i felt a lot more immersed in the setting of your videogame concept as a result. the experimental nature of the third section was fascinating to listen to — i did feel like the overlapping melodies were standoffish because of the different tonal? content.
overall, a lovely job! some additional mixing would also help bring things together, mostly just on any sound effects that you've integrated. hope to see more of your work!! :~)
Really like this! It gives me a Hollow Knight vibe, with the ambient piano and strings (I assume).
Some of the sound effects seem a little sudden at times, but overall they add a great atmosphere.
really like the spacing and instrumentation across all the tracks, I think the second piece is my favourite - definitely creates the more relaxed atmosphere in amongst a maddening descent!
Very interesting. I like the textures you mixed here - orchestral, electronic, and a bit of rock, and the way you use these textures in order to get the atmosphere is very well done!
I would really like to see more of this, since it's very unique and offers an interesting premise!
Well done!
incredibly unique and interesting submission
Quite layered and well textured. Nice job!
Interesting mix of textures here! The opening track definitely feels like it accomplishes what it sets out to do; fits well as a theme and an introductory sequence. Nice piano trills and supporting voices. The second track has some fascinating textures and weaving melodies. I like the use of pizzicato mirroring the piano line to emphasize different melodies - I think I can hear some mallet instrument also following suit here? Very immersive piece!
Finally, the last section feels quite up-beat in comparison. Fast rhythm lines on the hihats and some really nice mallet arpeggios. Choice of instrumentation and voicing here is really neat - some types of sounds I don't think I would've ever thought to use, but they come in clutch and really ground the piece. This reminds me of something I might hear on the PS1 back in the day.
Good work! These were pretty unique and made for an interesting listen.
The voices are in my head!
That was a wild moment when they came in it was very immersive!
The final track was very chaotic which was cool, I think the guitar you used didn't fit it so well however. The xylophone though was genius! that was the best part.
A nice mix of sounds and textures to create a quite eerie and spooky atmosphere! The little laughs and chaotic movement help place you right inside the setting. It's a nice range of approaches for the setting, and I really liked the reverbed piano at 0:24 over the pizzicato to feed into the dreamy-ness of it.
Really liked these tracks!
1 - Liked the ominous feeling it gave, especially at the end.
2 - Loved the audio samples you used, really created a serene and calm scene.
3 - Really fits the 'going crazy' feel.
Great work!
Creative use of samples, nice!
