I understand why you added unlimited continues so we can explore the content, the game is not only hard but also quite long given the context. During my second playthrough I managed to beat the first map without using one but still needed 8 at the end, unfortunately including one after I fell after defeating the last boss.

The game looks very good and consistent. It's pleasant to control, proposes cool sequences to navigate through including the extra challenge proposed by the falling platforms (and when homing bullets come you'd better use the platforms carefully because you're going to need them) and I really like that the enemies can fall into holes too.

Great game!

Very nice presentation. I would had liked a little bit more variety in the visuals and patterns but very engaging as is. I had to turn the volume down, the shell casings sound was too loud.

Cool game! Although I’m not fully convinced of the unstable ground mechanic, maybe more feedback to know when they’re about to break would’ve been nice. I also think the game should prevent you from going past the edges of the level, rather than taking damage from it. It’s really hard to focus on that while trying to avoid all the bullets ^^’

In any case, solid entry! And thanks for including continues hahaha, perhaps we should’ve done that too in our game.

Pretty good game! The unstable platforms are a nice use of the theme, and I really liked how much of a double edge sword it was for both the player and enemies (I can't imagine getting enemy navigation right was easy, but it turned out great).

I have mixed feelings on the respawn/continue feature. I get that it's there to keep the game from being too frustrating, and I do appreciate that, but as it stands its way too forgiving and took a lot of the excitement out of the game. Maybe you could have a limited number of lives, or a level system, or have respawns cost points, just something that actually punishes the player for rushing bosses with the shotgun without caring about bullets.

Other than that, this is really well done!

Thank you for speaking out about the continue feature. Yes, it's a guarantee feature to make sure the player will always be enjoying and finish the game no matter what. But it was a last-minute bandage feature for the difficulty balancing issues that I couldn't fix in time, so I have no regret.

Hope you had a good time.

my first 5 star rating i loved it

Interesting exploration of an idea! It looks good and polished :)

It is fun even with the infinite lives, which gives room for exploration in a jam game, good idea also.

On the falling floor mechanic, it's cool graphics wise, but I felt it was very difficult to concentrate at the same time on:

targeting

dodging

not walking on falling things

Sometimes it felt like I was taking damage when there was nothing close to me. maybe I'm not understanding a mechanic.

Music on point, visuals are great. love the game. you really felt all of the movements and I had a great time. props to you!

you were falling through holes thats the un stable part of the game the floor keep degrading

I was really curious about this one, but the game crashed as soon as I pressed start, tried it several times and waited for a few minutes but it didn't seem to load 😭

Developer

I'm sorry to hear that, Something is wrong here. You could try the Windows/Linux download version to see if that works for you.

Really solid game, nice controls and I think it works quite well visually except for the unstable floor being a bit unclear. I only learned about it reading the comments :P

Thank you for putting continues in your game 🙏

Simple but really well done. Nice style, difficulty scaling, VFX, juice and progression. I would just suggest to give a sound effect when you overlap with the iron grates in order to give feedback of the related mechanic. Overall, great job!

Submitted(+1)

Really liked this game, very fun indeed. I would say that the cursor could do with being a bit more visible and the grates on the floor look a bit trippy when you move. But still a really good game! (I like the graphics of the enemies a lot and the music is peak)

I really love the artstyle of this, and the game overall. I did experience a lot of bugs tho. It feels like the colliders where a bit off. Sometimes i would stand in the middle of 2 bullets without touching any of them with the green circle, and still recieve damage. But other than that it's a really solid game. Great job!

I just realized that i was dying to an unstable floor lol. I missed that detail on my first run

loved the perishable floors, how nicely the firing lined up with the music, and the unique way to implement i-frames with the scream. Had a lot of fun!

Great gameplay, very nice sounds, small details like the shells on the floor, lots of "juice" in there making it fun to play! beautiful bullet patterns! and the unstable floor was in fact, unstable lol, very nice

Submitted(+1)

Extremely solid entry! It's very polished. Having the option to continue instead of restarting the level is a great idea for the overall player experience!

Submitted(+1)

Feels great to play. Its a little challenging with the terrain slowly eroding so its good that you give the continue game option! Overall terrific, one of the best ive played here so far.

Submitted(+1)

The game feels very good to play, the juice and impact is all there.
Liked the two-stage design for the boss battles, feels very tense.
It's also kind of you to include continues as I seem to be very bad this :)

Submitted(+1)

Solid game. At first, it was a bit jarring with how many things I had to keep track of, with the missing tiles, bullets, and having to aim with your mouse, but after a while, I found the movement to be quite fun.  Also, I really like the hurt sound effect hahaha

Developer

Thank you!

There was indeed a learning curve, but I was trying my best to balance the game.

The boss bullet patterns are so cool! Nice work :D
