My Game Got Quarantined Again After Small Description Edit — Help (Ticket #279409)

Hi Itch.io team,

I really need help with a repeated issue.

My game was previously quarantined and hidden from search, but after following all the proper steps (clean ZIP, renamed .exe, added a README, etc.), it was reviewed and the quarantine warning was removed.

But now, after simply editing a line in the game description text (no change to the uploaded file), the page is quarantined again and no longer visible in search.

This is really frustrating, as it keeps happening even for small non-file edits.

Could someone from the team please look into this and help remove the warning again — or guide me on how to avoid this issue permanently?

Thanks in advance

I don't know. Please don't start again with the repeated questions!

OK!

guide me on how to avoid this issue permanently

That's not possible. Itch is fighting malware and is on the losing side.

Giving you a blue print to avoid delisting/quarantine - if there were a recipe for that - would mean to give all the criminals the same blue print.

There is malware uploaded and indexed every day. And reported malware is not removed for weeks and months. Either they are swamped, do not believe the reports or whatever. Quarantine, deindexing and long waiting times are a side effect of that fight, in my opinion.

okhe ! i understand
