No experience in making games

With 0 experience in making games at all (I've followed the flappy bird tutorial once), how possible is it to make a game, that follows the theme and functions in these, 10 days?

(+1)

Absolutely!  2023 I was laid off from my company job and to stay sane between filling out job applications, I dove into game development tutorial hell.  Following tutorials did help me at the beginning to learn UE5 (chose it for the visual scripting cause I'm terrible at coding syntax) but making small and learning skills for them projects helped the most.  Instead of trying to learn everything at once, I learned what I needed for the project and then applied that to the next.  This will be a rest stop on your journey of growth.

What programs are you using to learn to make games?

Thanks for your input. I did THE tutorial in unity, but Im pretty sure I'll switch to godot for this. I've never tried it, but I got some coding experience in general, so Im guessing I'll adapt. Due to uni, I won't have the time to even install the program before that, but if nothing else, this might make me try to start with game dev in general.

Let me tell you, YES. Although you may not know the ins-and-outs of many programming languages, you have almost 1 whole month to learn! I can give you recommendations, like Khan Acadamy Prosessing.js (Easy, but is a bit outdated), or if you have a language in mind, just look up the documentation for it, and a YouTube tutorial on the side for basic knowledge. The syntax is the hardest part of each language, and so long as you know the logic of the program, I elieve that you can do that!

Thanks for encouragement. Unfortunately I got finals that I'm already failing this whole month, they will end the day before the game jam starts. I already have some coding experience in cpp and python, so I'm hoping I'll be able to adapt that knowledge to godot, which seems like the best choice for this.

If you know C++ You got no issue it's so hard lol
