Game Description
You’re the newest recruit of the Haunted Janitorial Society. Your job? Clean up ghost slime, banish messy spirits, and whatever you do, don’t get caught by the hotel guests. Stay unseen, stay efficient, and earn a good grade at the end of each shift… or risk being sent straight back to Purgatory.

How does your game tie into the theme?
This game is all about the unseen. Ghosts, Stealthy Janitors. Hotels stay clean, but have you ever seen the people actually cleaning?

Very funny writing, you got me good at the end of the tutorial level.
Neat idea, i personally would have preffered to move about a bit quicker, but i'd love to see the idea and theme expanded upon more.
Nice job!

The writing is hilarious, the idle animation of the protagonist is great, and the idea is really cool, but the controls need a bit of work. I had trouble advancing the dialogue in the beginning, and after walking through some walls I got stuck in a corner, and I couldn't leave even when becoming invisible. I agree that the music is a bit repetitive, but honestly I didn't mind too much. I thought it had an ironic sense of fun, considering the combination of the writing and the theme.

I was well done dialog, pretty fun, and an interesting idea. There's a bit of jank. I had to restart a couple of times to just because I got locked out, or my ability wouldn't stop cloaking. You could of also done with the controls being viewable whilst actually being in game (or in the games description). Some more feedback and animation of the players actions would have been useful. There's some great art here. Congrats on finishing.

Thank you for playing and for the thoughtful feedback! This was my first full project, so hearing what worked and what didn’t is super helpful. The softlocks and cloaking issues were likely tied to a last minute wall check that I didn't get to fully test. I also appreciate the note about controls and player feedback, that’s definitely something I want to improve on. Really glad you liked the art and dialog.

I like the cloaking mechanic, but it's not as responsive as i'd like it to be. Maybe there's a cooldown but i cant really see and i got kinda soflocked where i wasn't able to get out of the cloaked mode

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! There is a 10 second cooldown on the ability, but the softlock was probably from a last minute fix that delays uncloaking if the game thinks you are inside a wall. I didn’t have time to show the cooldown visually, so I totally get the confusion. Really appreciate the feedback! This was my first project, so it helps a lot!

Very original idea. Controls sometimes don't act as expected (or at least as I'd expect).

Music is a bit repetitive, probably fits well with the ideas of being a janitor forever. ;)

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! This was my first project, so any extra detail on what felt off with the controls would really help me learn. Glad the music gave off eternal janitor vibes... maybe a little too well lol

I like the idea and graphics. There is a problem with the controls. I clicked play straight away and expected some kind of controls in the tutorial and ended up almost being stuck in the dialog menu because I didn’t expect E to move that forward. I found the phasing through walls ability to be very finicky in turning off. sometimes it would last a second or and one time it just never stopped and I couldn’t progress.

Developer

Thanks so much for playing and for the detailed feedback! The phasing issue was likely from a last minute fix to prevent uncloaking inside walls. Unfortunately the fix seems like it was a bit buggy.  And good point on the tutorial! I’m curious, did you expect the dialogue to auto progress, or to move forward with a different key? This was my first project, so insights like yours really helps me learn.

the first 3 things I tried for next dialog was mouse click, space and enter. but really i’d expect any valid input to do it
